CM day spiced up with a newbie drive. Very good attendance in general so objective 1 achieved, seeing many friends I had not seen for a long time.

Scorpio took care of the briefing, after I was assigned as support to the Newbie drive, to be precise to Solmaz's convoy that was supported by Daggerfall (plus full family).

6 newbie drivers in total (great number for good flow) plus Marco in between to help with the rescues.

Solmaz selected a comfortable track to which she carefully added little obstacles to test the convoy and to see how they were managing. In general the convoy did great, good distance, good radio communication, very enjoyable to drive with them.

Only point that I would like to mention, as the dunes start getting a bit larger in size ... after doing a drop convoy needs to understand when they should accelerate in order to carry enough momentum to tackle the next obstacle that normally is a climb/big dune. Some drivers were not accelerating early or hard enough which results in not being able to make the line that the leading car had selected.

Main issue I had to deal with were 2 cars from the CM drive that suddenly showed at my rear ... luckily the CM convoy was not far so I did not take long to guide them to the right place.

Thank you Scorpio for arranging the CM drive, Solmaz and all of the Marshalls for making it possible.

See you on the sand soon.
