Hello Almosters,

GOOD DAY!!

Got up early in the morning excited for the EID drive with my second family. My first family was also really excited as they would be joining me for the fist time.

I reached the meeting point at 3.30pm where more than half the convoy was already assembled and was greeted by @alshamsi_m where i got the edi and sweets from him. The briefing started around 3:45 and the convoys started moving around 4:10pm.

I was the third car with @alshamsi_m as the lead and @jockjku as the second lead. The tracks were easy starting in badayer and ending in al faya with a few challenging sections where u could hear @alshamsi_m saying"This is gonna be interesting". The drive was specially designed for the families joining us today. We had a few second tries and a few crested cars in the convoy.

The drive ended at 6:45pm where everyone gathered in the sitting area to enjoy with the families. Unfortunately me and 3 other cars had to leave after the drive and we were escorted to the road by @jockjku.

Thank you to @alshamsi_m and @jockjku for the lead, @solmaz and @booy for floating around us and making sure that the convoy is safe and all the other advanced and Intermediate drivers that looked after us and provided us with valuable advice & assistance.

Hello Everyone and Eid Mubaraak again

Before the Eid event I was hoping that the weather would be fine becuase it was HOT scared the week before. At the meeting point it was a bit windy so it was a good sing that I'm be better in the evening. We had a long drive today and the idea that we only reach the seating area when it is cooler.

Once we reached the sitting area the view and weather were amazing, no one could believe this is summer. I was chit chatting with Jose & AngelGarcia so I missed the part where the others were playing " POLICE & BADGUYS " I don't know what it was but it seem to be intresting and funny ( Jockjku you missed that part).

All in all it was another sucessful event by Almost4x4 family, thank you all for joining us and sharing the joy.

Tell next time ... Stay safe

Cheers

Morning All!

A very nice drive through some interesting places with great scenery! Everyone did very well and there were very few unplanned stops!

The sitting area was very nice, with a lovely breeze keeping the heat and humidity away!

Thanks to all who organised, and shared food and chit chat etc! It sounds like there was fun to be had after i left, and I wish i hadn't missed the games!! Another great family event with the Club.

Hope to see you all again soon,

Jock

Good morning everybody,

me and my friend arrived early at the meeting point, it was very hot and I was already exhausted after deflating my tires.
The convoy was huge, 31 cars joined the drive. The track was easy and relaxing and we arrived at Fossil Rock before sunset, the colours in the desert are incredible beautiful just before sunset in love

As usual we sat together and enjoyed the cooling breeze and food and drinks. I was happy to see Rapailo again who entertained us as usual with his stories.
Some of us played "Resistance", a game which seems to become more and more famous in the club.
We left the desert at around 9.30, heading back to civilisation.

It was a great day with the 2. family and I enjoyed atmosphere and company so I was not in a hurry to drive back home.

Thanks everyone and I am looking forward to see you all soon
BR, Johanna

Hi Almosters,
This was my first Eid drive with the club and the first time my family was accompanying me on a drive. We reached around 15:35 at the deflating point and there were already quite a lot of Almosters present. Since my friend had also joined us with his TrailBlazer had to deflate 7 tyres this time :( ... someone helped them with the 8th :) . That was tiring. But Bu Salem quickly energized me with sweets and a crisp bank note.

The drive started around 16:15 with about 31 cars - Bu Salem in the lead, Jock as second lead and Mosh as the sweeper. We had Booy, Agalon, Solmaz, Daggerfall floating and other intermediates and crew forming links in the convoy. It was a fun and easy drive - but with enough punch to keep everyone in the cabin screaming, howling, cheering and even crying at some point :) . The scenery kept changing with the desert a bright red initially and then changing into different tones of brown.

We finally settled down for sunset on a nice high point and had people chatting, cajoling and having fun. Some of them left towards the beginning and we had a second batch leaving some time after sunset. The rest of us called it a day around 21:30 and headed back to civilization with calm minds, tired bodies and good memories. Thanks to the organizer Abu Jimmy, our founder Bu Salem and all the marshalls, crew, intermediates and members for the wonderful afternoon in the desert. Eid 2018 will be a good memory.

See you in the sand

Hello Everyone,

We look forward to Eid holidays for many things; for me one of the most interesting thing on Eid is to meet with the ‘almost family’. My wife and kids were as excited as me on the drive day because they also feel themselves a small part of this lovely family and even though they don’t come now on regular drives (too hard for them to handle those now arr. ) but on special events drives they make sure to come and enjoy thumbsup .

We had a nice gathering on the 2nd day of Eid at Tawi Nazwa. Although the weather was a bit warm in the afternoon but during the drive we did not feel it and by the time we reached to the sitting area the weather was already pleasant and enjoyable. We had a nearly 2.5 hour drive from Nazwa – 2nd Dec – faya coffee dunes – fossil rocks and it was enjoyable. Although, Bu Salem tried to keep it easy but on few points he made it ‘interesting’ Psmiley .

We had a nice time spent at the sitting area and enjoyed some good food and the ever famous Bu Salem’s coffee (I am addicted to it now grin ). I told my wife that this is the coffee that keeps us alive when we go to liwa and camp in cold weathers  . Although it was way better sitting there in the desert but I had to make it to a dinner invitation so left at 8pm.

I hope you all had a great time. Take care.

See you soon in the sand.

Cheers thumbsup
