Simply another wonderful drive with the family,,,, After the initial briefing at the meeting point and late Birthday celebration for alshamsi_m (thanks for the donuts and cakes guys) We drove next to al qudra area for deflating and regrouping as Blacknat said. Name of this drive made a little confusion in us after the rainfall day before. We all thought there won't be any soft sand and this would be like on road driving,,,,,,,,,,,,, until we actually hit the dunes,, !!!!! As one of marshal said, "Don't worry marshals will find ways to get you stuck",,, oh !! it was true,,, We had soft sandy dunes during the most of the drive, there were many stuck and second tries, we all learned from each incident. Some of them are, not keeping momentum/speed, not keeping a right distance between the cars, etc... It is needed to say so many were crested in sharp dunes,, I believe this is because we didn't keep right speed when passing over.
Generally a slow moving convoy, but very enjoyable. We all learned new things, thank you so much for all the marshals and the organizers.. we appreciate you dedication to the fullest. And let me share some pictures during the drive... See you all in the sand soon...

A great winter morning with almost4x4.
I was in convoy 3 (Newbie 10+) , led by @zico and swept by my self and as rescue @Eric at middle convoy.
We waited for the 5- and 5+ convoys to start then we spun the wheels at 8:50 for a duration 3:20 including breaks couple of second tries and one recovery. Covered 48.5 km on the beautiful Soft Land.
It was super! Our convoy had a very smooth pace everyone did pretty good and @Mo Sh & @yboi made my sweep mission acoustically awsome with their hungry car's engines. My belgian friends (the two brothers) enjoyed a lot the ride, and one of them grabbed the radio to announce his feelings about it, at the first quarter of the ride. We used to hear such announcement end of the drive, so he given me the feeling that we finished the ride too early :005: The elder brother is living in Dubai and has a Hummer, and planning to bring his mountain bike from Belgium so let's see which toy we will see first.
@alshamsi_m thanks for promoting the cycling activity and passing by Al Qudra cycling track, this outdoor activity is really good, very educative and worth looking at it.
We explore a lot of different places and terrains with almost4x4, this is very good to have an idea what kind of dunes we can encounter while off-roading, planning a route on the map and thinking that all desert dunes are similar to Al Badayer is wrong statement and may lead you to a serious situations... So keep driving with the club regularly and you will be impressed by the beauty of the different type of terrain, dunes shapes and size and the softness of the sand!

Such an amazing morning drive with ALMOST,
we all gathered on time in the petrol station, and some of the guys surprised Bu Salam with a cake for his birthday, Happy Birthday again @alshamsi_m. Then we moved toward the deflating point and we have been divided into 3 convoys.
I was in the convoy leaded by Abu Jimmy, who took us through a nice route, Thanks God we did not have any problem, only one pop out.
we finished on time in the inflating point.
wish to see you again next drive

Hello Offroaders.
This was my second drive on sands I was in convoy NB5- led by @Rashidjass and supervised at all time by @alshamsi_m,
it was a very nice drive, though some said it was slow but for me it was a learning journey while having fun, I have experienced many weakness points I have while driving on sand, going against gravity specially in arch driving and the hesitation and wrong breaking time which is due for not keeping the correct constant speed. I would like to thanks Abu Salem for his continues advise while driving and when I was stuck, and special thanks to DaggerFall to help me out while I was stuck and his advises and to another family member that I do not recall his name he is on a Beige FJ. Every stuck and second/Third tries provide a learning curve, how to use the snatch rope with D-shackles correctly, and once done how to avoid blocking the rope under the car wheel and how to rap the rope fast. Over all enjoyed the arches and the drives. Looking forward to the next drive. Attaching few pictures below..

Hi,
I was in the -5 convoy for rescue. It was great to see the excitement and fun in the eyes of new family members who are just making their very first steps to a new world.
It might look challenging in the beginning but you will not believe how much you will learn and improve your level if you keep coming. And you will learn from the best! :)
Keeping the right distance, communication , learning to adjust your speed during cresting and most importantly "Not fighting with the gravity" are the most fundamental skills you need to improve in this level which will also keep you out of many troubles.
One thing I noticed was I see some members fly during the cresting maybe they afraid to get stuck . Don't do that!. Getting stuck , getting crested , doing a second try even several times are much better than damaging your car and hurting yourself . Our marshals are very patient. You will eventually learn how to do cresting smoothly without getting crested and using your momentum much better. Until that time anything but flying is ok.
Thanks to all Marshalls and participated.
Hope to see you soon.
Best regards

Hi all,
It was a very nice drive in perfect weather conditions. I was in Newbie 5- convoy led by Rashidjass. It was a great learning experience. The support and rescue team was very professional and patient. The whole experience really showed that the experienced almost4x4 family members are really supportive and are good teachers/trainers. Not everyone who has knowledge is able to provide it to others but crew members of almost4x4 are really good at it.
After the first break, we had discussion on where the newbies need to improve and focus. This really helped us and the 2nd half of drive was much improved and we learned a lot by focusing on points discussed during the break.
I would like to thank the whole team and I am eagerly waiting for the next drive.
