We all met at Al Badayer shops as planned , start to roll a bit late due to some late comers ( A Ramadan thing I guess ..:x_x: ) . It was a V.I.P. convoy ( 11 members & 9 Marshals ) . Very enjoyable lead by Al Khatib and no issues or delays ( except one pop out ) . 1.9 KM before " Super Bowl " Majaaz car stopped due to multiple mechanical issues ( overheating , dead battery & bad alternator ) . Our beloved Explorer did not see it coming , his comment was very simple " I just collect the car from service today at noon !! " . Hamdan , DL , Se7eS and Omar decided to stay with him to take the car out of the desert and the rest of the convoy proceeded to " Super Bowl " then to "Ghost Town" for" Suhoor " . We waited for a while for the car to cool down and were really astonished when we poured more than 5 liters of coolant & water into the engine that was released by dealer after less than 12 hours of being serviced !!!! ( this vehicle had less than 20% of the required coolant when released from service & we are sure of this cause there was no coolant leak of any kind any where ) . Second problem was the dead battery that couldn't run the car ( even with jumper cables ) so Me , Se7es & DL had to go back to Nazwa and grab a new one . went back to Mazaaj car , fix the new battery and WALLA , the black Jeep is alive . Back to Badayer shops where we had our "Suhoor " ( thanks to Mazaaj for the tasty Falafel sandwiches ) then left around 4:30

Would love to hear from the other members about the rest of the trip .
What goes around , comes around .

Dear All

This Ramadan was another success for Almost4x4 Off-road Club, We had unique events that happens only for this month like the grand iftar, Solo drives & Night drives.

Generally speaking , By now our intermediate drivers realized the need for the right off-road lights " not necessarily the most expensive ". also the difference between newbies and the other levels. In addition , why you should be patient to get all the skills for the next level.

Last night was no exception, Al Khatib had the lead from Al Baddayer to Super Bowl with his unique lead style, unfortunately , I came late but while I was sitting on the Super Bowl Watching the convoy coming in the dark as the same time I could hear the redio communication from the car , It was amazing time feeling the cool wind with the Arabic coffee. Well that was one short great time alone until I heard that Zico is coming and I have to escort him up from the road so I did the solo drive again where I met Zico and hit back with our mini convoy. By the time we reached we found our friends were chilling and chit chatting.

Thanks Al Khatib for covering up. From there I took the lead to Ghost Town which is surrounded with Soft & Sharp dunes that adds the blood rush.

Once we reached there, Some had site seeing around with their lights others just sat down but unfortunately this group didn't have the guts to drive inside the houses to feel the MDG.

All in all we had a very good time. Also this is the last drive in Ramadan and looking forward to more events and drives in the upcoming months.

Best Regards

Night Riders was the last night drive of Ramadan for this year. After a very quick brief by Youghybear, we all set to start moving towards our final destination “Ghost Town”. Overall this was a smooth drive with a couple of second round, stucks and Majaaz's car breakdown. Weather was unexpectedly very pleasant.
All in all an enjoyable drive. Thanks Marshals for arranging this memorable trip.

Hi Guys

I had always avoided night drives, as the few i had done had scared me..... To state the obvious, i needed to invest in some lights.

I had consulted with a few guys and assessed what i needed and wanted and what i was willing to spend.
I phoned Baja Designs and Rigid Industries in the USA and had some more technical chats with there sales guys..... and i decided what i wanted.

Here is a link to a very useful bit of info:

Thanks guys, i had a fantastic time and will be joining more night drives.
It was great to meet up with you all again.

Thanks for sharing precise technical information about off-road lights. This clearly describes off-road lighting zones and how important is correct angle and correct place to install lights. High Luminance is not the every thing, correct angle and correct place of installation is more important.
