Garmin Montana 650, very good offroading, perfect on roading, if you add BirdsEye, then nothing can compete with it, durable, and you can use the profile facility to change profiles in it, and adjust the setting of each profile to accommodate your needs.
hope this helps

Small correction, there is a small difference between Montana 600 and 650 and it is lousy camera in model 650. Otherwise Montana 600 is the best choice at the moment.

you are right, but the useful thing about the camera, is that you can take pics with GPS coordinates integrated in it, so, instead of saving a point, take a pic and this will be saved, good reminder sometimes, anyway, i prefer the old method :)
Garmin mentions Garmin nüvi 40 and Garmin nüvi 50 as the newer model of Nuvi255w.

Has anyone tested nuvi40/nuvi50, if it's good for offroading as its predecessor 255w?
Actually the Nuvi 40 & the 50 are pretty Ok for off roading...they both have an off road mode and that is the paramount requirment for off road navigation.

They might not have a track back feature but they will show you your track whihc can then be followed back visually.

The other plus point is they are priced very well.

I use a Nuvi 710 for all my drives and have never had any issues with it, never got lost or ended up in a place where I didnt wnat to end up in !
