Hi everyone!
Another amazing event organized by our wonder woman @Solmaz always supporting this beautiful cancer awareness initiative.
Massive number participants including families and significant representation in the ladies’ convoy. That’s very good news.
Along with Solmaz, both @Agalon (not to be confused by Daggerfall
) and @Rashidjass took care of the other 2 convoys with a mix of newbies and interm. @Daggerfall was there as well but he was out of duty.
I was supporting Rashid’s convoy with minimum number of interruptions as members did very well. Playground selected was also nice and Rashid served an easy but still enjoyable level, starting from the back of Sweihan farm, reaching Nagra and way back. There were not too many bushes but plenty of tracks when nearby Nagra, which is normal.
We all have the opportunity to have some fun and challenge some dunes…felt sorry about a few members getting dizzy but that’s the problem when placing them at the back seats row. Lesson learned, I guess.
The event was concluded with a get together that I unfortunately missed due to other commitments.
All in all, it was a wonderful Saturday afternoon surrounded by nice people thanks to our beloved marshal/organizer @Solmaz .
See you all soon
Carlos

Dear Almosters
Saturday afternoon Almost4x4 family gathered for the 2nd (not 24th as indicated in the title here) annual Pink Ribbon drive in support of the Breast Cancer Awareness.
The Drive was organised by @Solmaz . Prior to the drive all drivers and accompanying family and friends were given a “Pink Ribbon” to be worn showing our support of the cause and @Solmaz mentioned in the briefing how everyone could make an online donation to the Al Jalila Foundation. After the group photos were taken, the drivers made their way to line up in the 3 convoys
With @Solmaz leading the all ladies drive and @Rashidjass and @Agalon leading the other 2 convoys respectively.
I was positioned in the convoy with @Agalon , It was a really nice family friendly track meandering through the dunes with only a few little challenges thrown in for good measure, lots of little drops – the type that will catch your skid plate if hit too fast and catch on to your rear bumper and rip it off. Fortunately, we managed to negotiate the track with no major incidents. Towards the middle of the drive @Agalon manage to find a great small drop with an immediate steep climb – the climb seemed like Everest to some of the drivers and required several retries by many of the drivers – once the drivers adjusted their tire pressure and hit the right acceleration the climb was conquered!. there were many stories shared by the members during the gathering of all the convoys after the drive – although it was a little windy, but with a pleasant temperature.
Thank you to everyone who joined this drive making it a successful event all-around. Looking forward to seeing everyone again at the next two exciting Almost4x4 events – Eggs in the Basket and Meet & Greet

How do I start this!! So far one of the most memorable drives with Almost Team
..
Reached around 45 mins early and had enough time to deflate and get ready for the day. I had made some special badges for the occasion and distributed it to our members and families. Also helped to break the ice with people who I had never met before. Climate was a bit too harsh for this time of the year but some lovely clouds
came in and blocked the sun for a good 25 mins which saved the day.
@Solmaz gave the intro and we were split into 3 convoys.
Funny thing, about 5 mins into the drive I was telling my passenger that I might be in the wrong convoy because it was not like the last newbie drive. Things went into second gear. Big dunes, some very very small cresting (not really but felt so). Adrenaline was

. The route was unlike anything I drove before with sharp turns and some big dune climbs.
I got 2 refusals on that big dune but I learned to not just floor the car but to maintain the RPM and on the 3rd try I made it to the top on 4H. 4L was too much since the track was already broken by the time I was climbing. But hell lot of fun!
Also big applause to the Marshall to keep things interesting yet super safe for everyone. That's some skill I wish I would learn in the coming years. It was the right amount of challenge. And yes this drive felt long and satisfying.
Unfortunately I couldn't join the final BBQ camping since my passenger was super dizzy by the end of the drive. I had to leave immediately after the drive.
Thank you once again for letting me learn on the sand. See you all on the next one!

Hello everyone
Back to the dunes after a summer haitus, and a good opportunity to reconnect with the Almost4X4 fam, all led by a great cause! Thank you @Solmaz for organising this.
Apart from the high adrenaline high BPM drives, such events are a nice way for all members to come together and drive for a purpose. Considering the location was sweihan, I left well in advance and reached ahead of time, accidentally stopped by a convoy from another group which seemed to have similar flags from afar, only to realize that Almost4X4 team had setup teardrop flags a little further down
Weather was warmer than usual for mid October, and hence quick deflate, meet and greet, group photo, briefings and off we went.
A very chill and relaxing drive with leading marshall @Rashidjass and supported by @CARLOSS @Moustafa19 and @brett . Few second tries, no major hiccups and ending with a beautiful sunset.
Time to brush up the skills for a busy season.

Hello almosters
The pink drive I managed to convince my wife to join and bring my daughter Salma for her first desert drive with the sand family. Marshall jass led the blue convoy which was all newbie level so fairly relaxed and family friendly compared to our previous 10+ with Marshall Scorpio which was a rollercoaster ride . Was a really nice event organised by Marshall Solmaz to support a good cause.
We had a gathering at the end where we shared food, chit chat and watched the sunset in great company. Nice to experience the diversity this club has to offer and being able to bring the family along to enjoy the desert to see its natural beauty. My wife, our nanny and daughter enjoyed themselves despite getting a little scared at times with some of the small drops and climbs we did.
Looking forward to the next 10+ and as always big thank you to our Marshalls and intermediates/advanced for guiding us on our adventures in the sand

The Pink Drive for Breast Cancer Awareness took place with three convoys, comprising one girls-only convoy and two mixed convoys with both intermediate and newbie drivers. This event was organized to raise awareness for breast cancer while ensuring an inclusive and enjoyable experience for participants of varying skill levels.
We had three convoys
• Girls Convoy: This convoy was exclusively for female drivers, providing a safe and supportive environment for women to participate in the drive.
• Mixed Convoys: The two additional convoys included both intermediate and newbie drivers, allowing for a diverse mix of driving experience and an opportunity for newer drivers to learn from more experienced participants.
I had the opportunity to support @Rashidjass , who took care to ensure the track was family-friendly. His attention to safety and the inclusive nature of the track allowed participants to focus on both the driving experience and the event’s mission of supporting breast cancer awareness.
Upon reaching the Nagra dune, all intermediate drivers were given the chance to “play” on the terrain. This added a layer of excitement and challenge for those with more experience, while maintaining a controlled environment for the less experienced drivers.
The day was a huge success, with everyone having a great time. The atmosphere was one of camaraderie and support, reflecting the importance of both the cause and the off-roading community. Special thanks to @Solmaz for organizing this yearly event, which continues to bring people together for an important cause in such a fun and engaging way.
The Pink Drive once again proved to be a fantastic initiative, blending community engagement with breast cancer awareness, and offering a memorable experience for everyone involved.
See you all on sand soon.
