Hi Everyone
on fire Aces high III.... a special recipe by @Solmaz
we all made it on time at the meeting point. The inters were shared b/w @Solmaz and @Daggerfall . First convoy was overlooked by @Shamsi and the second one by @Rashidjass .
i was right at the back initially and later on moved to the position, one before the last car. Our lead was in a mood to rock n roll, so she served us with a couple of side crests as an appetiser.
As soon as we recovered from that, the series of several climbs and more side crests were ready as a main course. omg . The area had mix of everything.... high dunes, sharp crests and above all not much vegetation around. There were plenty of o-s---t moments on the way where silent screams were heard on the Radio. On the way we had a few stops to catch up with the few second tries, till we finally sat down for @Shamsi special coffee and delicious karak. 15mins went pass quickly with a nice chat including few experiences shared by our founder and the marshal.
After the break @Solmaz raised the level further to delight us with the amazing desert. I can confidently say that she didn't leave any crest untouched. A Good 3 hr drive was full of adrenaline rush. on fire
At 5:30 we reached the inflation point, filled up, had another sip of coffee before we headed our ways.
Special thanks to @Solmaz for organizing a fantastic drive, enjoyed every bit!!!
thanks @Shamsi for being the guardian angel.
thanks @Scorpio for having the eagle eye. ninja
thanks @Rashidjass and @Daggerfall for being a wonderful company.
Notice: There'll be no fog... so relax and enjoy the drive
till next time

What a drive! Unfortunately I asked my teenager son to join me and he got burned on the exhaust of my beautiful red girl and then is got car sick all the time. Thanks for the patience of the group with the breaks needed for that. I was in @Daggerfall convoy and this was my first intermediate drive with the red beast. I have to say it takes a little bit to get comfortable with a new car so for the first 30 min. I was very stressed. But than the beautiful lines chosen by @Daggerfall made me relax and enjoy the drive. Shame @giorgio couldn’t join this drive to see his old red girl dancing on the dunes! You missed something man!
To many more Almost4by4 drives! Thank you my friends!

It was a far drive to get to the meeting point, but it was worth the drive.
We met at the meeting point, went through the usual drills, waited for the briefing & were dealt into our convoys. I was driving with @Daggerfall .
@Solmaz left with her convoy straight up the big dune where we met, my passenger looked at me with big eyes O_O . @Mabubaker fetched his passenger & we were ready to as he was second lead, @Loca was in front of me, @Sostick was behind me, @Ammaxterra was behind him & @Rashidjass was floating & keeping an eye on us. @Daggerfall shot straight up the dune followed by the convoy, sharp right turn, little left side crest, small drop, fairly big climb followed by another side crest
. That was the first two minutes, my passenger let out a "O sh.." & I just laughed. @Loca drove his FJ like he stole it
. The going was good, the convoy was small, the dunes were high & sharp. I remembered what @Daggerfall told us during the brief about cresting & I focused on doing what he told us. There was one or two early second tries, believe it was nerves or cobwebs
. The pace was nice & fast. @Rashidjass got crested & we went to help out (later he repaid the the favour rescuing @Daggerfall & myself).
I also had a few second tries, because my line was not right to hook the wheel on the crest, made a loop & got it right the next turn. I got crested on a high dune with an awesome view, my passenger did not enjoy the view...
. I waited patiently for @Rashidjass to rescue @Daggerfall & then it was my turn. We regrouped at the bottom of the dune & off we went again, criss crossing over the dunes.
It was a very nice fast paced drive with hardly any serious problems, there were a few second tries, @Sostick son got a little bit car sick, but I gave him a pill & all was fairly good after that.
Thank you @Solmaz for organising the drive, @Daggerfall for leading us @Rashidjass for looking after us.
Till we meet in the sand again, take care & stay safe.
Greetings

Dear Almosters,
it's never late for a trip reporter and "Aces High III" is one of the drives which stays in the memories
This time I'll start from the end of the drive when me and my passenger started screaming "yeeee we survived and we're still in a single piece"
Yes this time I had a passenger, a friend of @Rooies and I still remember some of his sentencies during the few times he could open his mouth, like ...
"you're crazy",
"I've a different opinion about hobbies.. it should be something relaxing",
"poor cars",
"didn't you tell me you start slowly in order to war up?"
It was nice to have a passenger as I could share with someone the many "oh-sh.." moments I had in the drive
On the drive itself everything has been reported in the previous reports. It was definitely a VIP drive due to the shortness of the convoy. I was car n.3 and I had no chance to slow down, in order to cope with pace and level of challenges I had to push my FJ like I was used to do with the Pajero and I discovered a new world
We also had many funny moments, like the first stop 5 minutes after the drive start, when me and @Mabubaker looked at each other and said "aren't we supposed to have a warm up?" .. the answer from @Daggerfall was an evil laugh, like Jack Nicholson in "The Shining" movie, while he was swallowing his red bull
Thanks @Daggerfall for the amazing lead and everything you teached to us poor terrestrials, Thanks @Rashidjass for the oversight and all the support
Special ovation for @Solmaz who organized the drive in this beautiful area
That's all from my last drive. Looking forward to meeting you soon

My motto for trip reporting is "Better late than never"
Aces High, as mentioned above, is an Iron Maiden song that I love. When I first did my solo drive to scout the Remah area, it was playing on my radio and the name of the drive was set by then. That day ended up with me getting stuck and digging for 3 hours but that is a story for a camp night.
Aces High III was planned to be a fast-paced high-level drive to challenge our intermediates on higher dunes and sharp crests. With the amazing support from our marshals and founder (@alshamsi_m, @Daggerfall, @Rashidjass And @Scorpio) we managed to have 2 VIP+ convoys of 5 intermediates each.
The drive itself was fast and smooth and a few issues we had were mostly due to distance. Just as a reminder, at higher speeds, and higher dunes, if you don't have enough distance from the car in front, you won't have enough time to react and that is a recipe for an accident. The good news is, after a while, it will turns into a habit and you won't even think about it.
Overall all our drivers did great. It was another great afternoon with the family.
Thanks to all who participated and especially @kareem.alameldin for his great second lead.
Hope to see you all soon.
