Let me start with sorry for not being able to write a report for this trip, I was really busy at work specially I was out of the office for one week before the drive
Liwa trips are always special, it's the dream of the sand lovers and diffidently has more flavor with a family such as ALMOST 4X4
During the trip we had wind, a light sand storm and rain, the only thing we didn't see till the sunset in the SUN
Till last minute we had nice cresting and drops on the lovely singing dunes
Great company, great day
I really wanted to see Booy and hamzahng driving with us, and I missed azma in this drive
Thank you Bu Salem for stretching the drive to 190 km, thank you Rashidjass for taking care of us, thank you everyone
See you in the sands soon

Actually we took a bit of a short cut. first we tried pushing him off the crest. Didn't work. Then I had him run in reverse to use the tires to pull sand out from underneath the front of the car. When it was clear we dug out the back from underneath, then he was able to drive out.

It was team @Agalon, @Daggerfall, @BAT SINGH, @Mark B and @Solmaz cheering us on. @SINGH came up to help and got himself crested sideways and did an amazing job of self recovery (I have video). We all started about the same time (with Almost4x4) so we came through the ranks together. @alshamsi_m taught us how to shovel out a crested vehicle. This is the first time we got to use that knowledge. Worked like a charm. We were like a machine. We all knew what to do and we did it!

It was a wonderful day in Liwa..

There is not much to say about Liwa; big dunes, soft sand, surprising crests...Weather exposed all its capabilities, rainy, windy, sandy, except sunny which was the perfect situation for a drive...

I couldnt count how many second tries and stucks were there in the convoy but all are normal due to the fact that Liwa is full of surprises..I think all the drivers did their best.

I would like to thank alshamsi_m for giving us the opportunity once more to drive in Liwa and all support team for their continous assistance. Great pictures from Rashidjass which is also showing what a big challenge and fun we had in Liwa..

See you on the sand at the earliest and change by always keeping the momentum of improving..

The Ghost Ride

In this trip to Liwa I was honoured to occupy the passenger seat in the Storm Shadow.

On Friday I really enjoyed the road trip to Liwa with Bu Salem; very nice chit chat during the trip and before I realized we were already at the meeting point.

Upon arrival ZaheR, orlantsev and Red Baron were already there and after some time we gathered around the fire, had something to eat and some more chit chat.

After having some challenges with the tent during the night due to the wind, we could finally get some sleep.

Next day we had a nice breakfast with most of the participants, who had been arriving later in the evening when we were already sleeping.

After taking some dizilin we were ready to go.

From my privileged position, I could see how Bu Salem as leading marshal was drawing the route, taking very much into consideration each and every vehicle which was behind and choosing the route carefully. I was definitely in a good position to learn a lot during that day.

In such a long drive there were many highlights; regarding the drive, the Storm Shadow was a few times with all the wheels in the air, regarding the weather, there was some wind at times but we were lucky to have a cloudy day, regarding the views, they were amazing and we also spotted some gazelles, and regarding the sounds, we could listen many times to the beautiful tunes from the singing dunes.

Overall it was a very good drive till sunset which I believe everybody enjoyed.

It was a great chance to catch up with the Almost4x4 Family.

Special thanks to alshamsi_m for taking very good care of me from beginning to end and also to Daggerfall to drop me home after having dinner with the Turkish team.

All the best to All of you and see you soon in the sand!!!
