The bear was hunted... Just kidding!! Tornado was at 20% used of its capacity.. If you ask why? I guess Because we had a newbie car (not the driver) :disapointed:. The new FJ been going under the mercy of the modified driver (BuSalem), first time seeing his car on 4 tires all the time, I guess his teaching the car to step on four legs then two:ninja: .

staring on time from Badayer shops, weather 27c .. Getting better and start noticing traffic jam in the desert, started with slow convey then with a faster beat trying all sort of technical dunes, creating reaching to of iftar bowel then I gues it was area 53 back to Badayer.

no major incident during the drive but marshals started helping people after the drive is over... Saloon stuck near Badayer shop and Mazaaj pull him out then we saw 2 ladies coming out from the desert and BuSalem went to help them, Yoghybear and me copilot went to watch (curiosity loooool) and found 2 guys with land cruiser on 30psi sank in the sand - so the guys sent the girls to ask for help , sound common!!! Deflated to 10 and BuSalem took the car out and went for 2 spin testing the 5.7L and found to be ok and off course they could not leave without a quick lesson from Yoghybear (it is dangerous to drive alone in the desert, imagine if they are in the middle of that area and it is afternoon time and no one will be there till around 3pm so good luck) for some reason I felt that they will go back again soon.

Reaching Albadayer with a sunrise in front of me.
After the pre-drive discussions of whether the bear should be chased or caught, it was generally decided it should be chased during the drive and caught at some non-offroad event. The drive was at a good pace, few stucks and second tries. It lead through some beautiful areas and but concentration and focus on the driving was required. Side cresting, double and triple, left and right, - some taken graciously, some only with brute force.
I caught myself looking in the rear mirror more than usual to see if the car behind me was not too close.. and at times he was, - this after the close (centimeters) encounter experience with @yogibear at the Run Fast Reloaded. alshamsi_m, breaking-in the engine, seemed to be able to keep the throttle away from the metal, - mostly. Good advice from fellow FJ drivers was always present.
- That was another great drive with Almost4x4, - thanks to all leaders and Almosters joining the drive and for keeping it safe.

Has thanked: 4 times

Hi all, first of all my apologize to the group for not being able to start the drive, on time, among you guys. Reached with 15 min delay, deflated my tires two by two, mounted the flag while the shop guy was telling me, you are late your friends are already in the sand, I told him wish me good luck to catch them  trip title in mind.

I started by climbing the big dunes and go down several time till I found the fresh track at bottom, so I followed it till I saw the convoy far away in higher terrain. I reached you guys at couple of dunes ahead while Yoghybear decided to move and he had me in sight. I couldn't refuse alshamsi_m request by being multi buddy rescuer (front: Solmaz back: alshamsi_m) Chubby Panda must behave this time. On the other side it was so nice to see the new FJ of Abu Salem in the mirror. With not much radio communication during the drive, it was felt that every driver was focusing and enjoying the ride. Bear still free, I suggest we reload this trip in a more spicy place. You know what I mean :redbullsmiley:

It's so nice to drive & see you all once again after my long break driving intermediate. I've reached to the meeting point at exactly 7AM and few members are already there some are unfamiliar realizing that I joined the new batch of Intermediate drivers. After a straight forward brief from the Marshals the drive started around 7:45am. The usual Yoghybear style, smooth track, fast pacing, engine roaring.

Skills & Power are the main elements you need when following the big black “BEAR”. Skills to keep up the pace, climb after climb, crest after long crest, etc… Power of course to follow the Bear with high rpm's. I got stuck once & self-recovered in few seconds but not aware that my radio automatically switch off again by itself and missed Mazaaj & Bu Salem’s instructions while I’m doing self-recovery... I am glad they knew my radio was not reachable & not thinking I am ignoring them. We headed to Iftar Bowl where we saw another group of off-roaders resting. Finally we reached the end point around 10:30am safe and sound.

Once again a well spent weekend with you guys. Thank you to all the organizers & my fellow drivers who made it all possible!

Another Great drive with Yoghybear in the lead. He sure know how to cut a technical track. Relaxed as usual, Yoghybear used the whole dune, not just cross it. I swear he hit every path up to the top and down on every great dune. Great challenge. Great Drive. Great Fun.

Trip rated 5 greats.

See you all next time.
