Mainly you need it in case of roll over, if this happens the oil goes into the combustion chamber and spark plug will be dirty of oil, so you have to take it out and clean it in order to be able to switch on your engine again.larkin;41000 wrote:Hi Guys

Also, on the Jeep WJ, below forum says
"(TECH NOTE: Never clean spark plugs on the 4.7L H.O. engine. Damage to the platinum rivet will result. Also, do not use a wire-type gapping tool for the same reason. Use a tapered-type gauge.)"

So is the cleaning limited to certain vehicle types ?
