Unfortunately I wasn't able to join the morning drive. I thought however I'd share my experience of camping on Friday evening on Jebel Jais and yesterday doing a 7 hour climb. What was amazing was meeting people living in these villages, with their donkeys, goats and plateau farms; and it takes them 4 hours to climb down the path to the nearest road!
