A very good turnout of keen Club Members and a great stretch of desert to have this drive in. Some Club Members may never have been out in the dunes before, and coming round Fossil Rock and seeing that amazing ‘wall of sand’ is the just perfect introduction! We were split into 2 convoys, and I was one of the rescue team in Mazaaj’s convoy with Stawb in sweep.
Everyone did very well... so well in fact that I didn’t need to unpack my towrope!
Being at the back, I did see though that at times there were very large gaps in the convoy with up to 100m between cars (rather than the recommended 20m). Perhaps Bu Salem’s amazing tuition at the start of the drive had made some over-cautious!
It was fun to connect the convoys at the end and chitchat with old and new friends alike.
I gather Bambam had a challenge towing a stuck Raptor, and someone said that he’s now driving a 4-door Pajero !
Many thanks to all the organisers, and let’s hear Club Members share their own thoughts and stories.

Hi Everyone
Well it seems that End of Summer was a bit hotter than expected. as usual when almosters design a drive it is always a problem where to gather them because there is no big space for our large family. 36 members from different ranks joined to accomplish one mission which is " Another Successful event ". I hope we delivered what was expected from our first drive which is an introductory of off-raoding and giving you the feeling of your car and how it behaves in different scenarios.
I was in Yoghybear's convoy and he did a great job for an exercise day. The members had it all, big drops, sharp drops , V-shap drops and small to medium climbs. Before the sun set, Yogy took us in fast track to catch up with First Convoy by Mazaaj. It was so nice to see everyone smiling with a satisfactory after this magnificent time.
Well, in the briefing there were like at least more than 15 cars were going to stay for the chit chat camp but we end up with 3 only. I don't know what happened and why people left but for the people who stood we had great time until 9:30 pm.
Moreover, for whoever is going to get your FIRST STAR I will say " congratulations " and get ready for more adventures . For the others, I hope you had a good experience with us to make you decide what do you want to do next.
Till next time , I wish you great time and hope to see you soon.
Best Regards

Hello Everyone,
The trip start for me wasn't that good as one my tires blowout on Dubai Bypass Road just before Kalba Road Exit around 3 pm. Thanks @strawb @Yoghybear and Zorro for helping me out. We reached the petrol station around 3:30 pm and everyone were on time and Alshamsi was waiting for us with the rest of the members. With the new faces I saw and the smiles on everyone faces..I totally forgot what happened to me.
We took the attendance and left the petrol station to the deflating point. Bu Salim did an excellent briefing as usual for the Club Members and everyone were so excited for it. Once Bu Salim finished the briefing he did another one for the intermediates for the rescue tips.
We did 2 convoys one led by me and strawb as a sweeper with the help of Oxana and ginger and the other convoy led by Yoghybear and alshamsi_m as sweeper with the help of Bambam and @FrancisJK. We had like 1 hour and 30 mins before the sunset so I tried my best to be in the meeting point on time and we did it. The drivers did an excellent job in the drive.
Thanks again for the participating in this trip and I hope the drive reached your expectation or at least close it, special thanks to the Marshals and rescue team.
See you soon in the sand.

Hello all,
Just one word: we loved it.
I was with Mazaaj's convoy. Starting at the back of the convoy, Strawb took me to the front as my car seems so soft I guess :D.
Well, I will be honest: if I would knew the trip would be that long and that far from the road and we are gonna go such steep tips; I would probably refuse. But somehow it happened to be quite easier than it looks and we did it, I did not see any major issue issue with anyone.
The short briefing was helpful. Clean and simple.
The marshals was like bees, that felt really good to see them around all the time.
And all the CMs were nice, nice to see you guys. I dont remember the names, but I will remember the faces.
We could not stay after the ride, sorry for that. (As we have camped the night before -which was another lovely memoir- I was dead tired, yet the kids were crying to stay)
It was amazingly fun, we were one of the few families and family loved it. The way return, 8yrs old son allied with 4yrs old daughter to convince me to buy a real off roader(?) like Mazaaj's (big rims, dark colour and roaring sound. They used to love Pilot as it is big but now she is somehow outdated :D)
It is a shame I will be away for a few week but when I am back I will be completing the list (I have bought some of them ages ago yet probably unrated) and hit for another one...
Thanks for everything again. See you soon.
Enjoy until then...

I still remember my first drive with almost4x4. It was in march, and called "Desert First Contact" with Yoghybear and M Al Shamsi. At that time all my attention was focused on the driving techniques. When I heared about this trip I thought, It is the occasion to add some club members trip pictures to our club. And the idea was approved from Abu Salem and I joined him as photographer passenger. I will not tell more, here you can see the pictures and I hope you will like them:

Thanks to Mazaaj who provided me some pictures which are added to the album
