All started with waking up late, not rechecking the question I put and going out with a new group.
I had asked about the rear towpoint not being there. Three Marshals replied but I honestly forgot to chck my answers. After all, it was a couple of lugs and the rear towpoint was in my tool box. If I got stuck, which there is very rare chance by the way almost4x4 Marshals lead, no one would leave meand I could put it in. The I woke up late and missed my drive. I had already registered with 'another' offroad group, so I made it early to Khatam. After a briefing and convoy splitting we left, the TJ being the last. Within a 100 metres I was stuck on an incline sideways. Guess what? The sweeper made it so bad by almost bursting out on me. I know it was my mistake because I forgot the towpoint. But he guided me really well on a self recovery and explained to me me that i would be a liablity to the whole convoy. After all, the were side cresting sideways on inclines and there was no 'almost4x4' guiding and looking out for us or holding the convoy up. Mubz, I am sorry if I ever made fun of you buyt never attempt driving without Capri or khatib or Shamsi and our Marshals Band. Bad luck continues _ as soon as i started inflating on khatam road, the whole front tyre valve housing blew off. Only rubber left???????? Changed the spare, now the power steering pipe started leaking????? Well, serves me right I say. ... Chief Marshal, your calm and soothing instruction on the radio will always backup, no matter what.

When i say its 2nd Family I mean it.
I've heard about alot of other groups and some/ many of Almosters go out with other clubs its their choice and I respect that but I took oath to myself on my First Trip that If I go off-roading It will only be with Almost4x4 and for better, for worse, in sickness or in health I will be Faithful Almoster :Psmiley:till Marshals ban me forever :)
Glad you were back home Safe along with your TJ

Good news, another valve housing popped out at 80 kmph, the front right one this time. Drove on till it literally tore apart. Changed all four valves just now. Lesson well learnt ..... Buy a three ton jack and snatch strap as advised ..... With rated points and shackles. ....

Another good advise , buy your TJ a set of metal valves and the housing will never fly , the rubber will never get cut . I am using them since 18 months , deflating and inflating on weekly basis and they are doing great . ( available at Almost4x4 Auto center ) .MaddieTJ;26936 wrote:Good news, another valve housing popped out at 80 kmph, the front right one this time. Drove on till it literally tore apart. Sorry for what happen to Maddie, good to hear that the damage was minimal with God grace. No need to explain about ALMOST4x4 again and gain, who ever want to taste the goodness of our home, let them try with other clubs, As we have drove with other club you can get familar with the following.1. Unhealthy driving - never cars about the damage occur to the car2. way of rescue , especially rope pulling. - you will feel that you are gushed out from a canon.3. Instead of explain the situation, just they will rescue your car, and end of the day, u dint learn any thing.4. Discipline in the convoy, parking, - never expect it.5. But drive with them to taste the wildness with brutality (sorry guys dont take as an offence, what i felt). Note this never happens with All marshal "some exception cases are there of-course" I salute them

Frequent off-roaders face this issue due to the " deflate - inflate " process , which will shorten the life of the normal rubber valve stems eventually and it will fail some times in the middle of the desert which is inconvenient . ( we usually use " super glue " as a temporary solution and re-inflate with our air compressor till we reach the tyre shop .MaddieTJ;26938 wrote:So Abu Jimmy, this is a common problem with ubber valves? Capri valve stems are European super high quality ( designed for Army vehicles and Rally cars ) . The ones I use are Chinese good quality with very reasonable price.
