I don't understand it. Why for all the light in world, you would need to get coat for your car???
Normally your car is exposed to bright sun, salt water in humidity, flowing sand and dust for years, if it is parked or driven. Any desert trip is like sand blasting to your car paint. Industrial paint on your car was developed by engineers (Trust me, I'm Engineer), spending millions. to achieve durability and colour stability and now you think those R&D developers are idiots? Now you're driving for few days to Oman and you think you need some special decoration (aka protection)????

I don't disagree with caprihorse it is his point of view, and I respect it.

The R&D spent by car manufactures are not the same and so is the paint technology say for ex a Japanese car manufacturer VS German VS American VS European all have different standards and so are those standards followed in every aspect of there products, if I expect a Korean car manufacturer to compete with German just for the say of an argument in the paint technology they use for their cars will not be the same and rest will go on ...

So in my view it all how trust worthy and qualitative is the brand that you are carrying... BTW no car manufacturer guarantees paint job for any time period according to my limited knowledge ... so if some protection aka decoration gives someone peace of mind then there is no problem with it.

Engineers are very professional the industries that hire them have a reputation to match, there is no doubt that over time lots of advancement are made but there is a saying

What you see is What you belief .... any engineer can have that trust because it is his job but others... they will like to have their own way of trusting things.:cheerful:

Nice one... Majority of reputable car manufacturers (and Koreans belong also to this category) are using paint from reputable global paint manufacturers and I was referring to this R&D section. I really doubt that Nissan or Mercedes are buying their paints from unbranded suppliers, "behind the corner". If you want to know more, check Akzo Nobel, PPG Industries or DuPont...

And regarding to the car paint, it is also covered by warranty terms & conditions. Maybe you can check a small print in your vehicle's service book.

The best way to preserve your car’s paint is to wash and wax it regularly.

Omani Riyal exchange rate to UAE Dirham, floats between 9.53 - 9.55 within last year and actually it's influenced by USD and local inflation rate. It's not possible to say, that one currency or other from these countries is stronger or weaker.
