Has anyone been within the last week or two? Has the situation changed, or are UAE officials still requiring hotel/tour bookings?
I do so want to visit the mountains.

We have been recently on dhow in Mussandam and check was tough and strict, similar, like entering Oman to travel into Muscat. They took all our passports and were checking them one by one in the system; before we had to send the copy of the passport to organizer. They didn't inquire about insurance for the car, valid in Oman territory. Somehow happened that one member of the crew was not on list, so they send him back.
