I got a pair of the "chinese" HID lights from Clifford for 480AED.. not bad at all, and for the night drive they were excellent.FSL;10814 wrote:Check BMW road (Clifford or Doha) or I've also seen these lights in Al-Awir industrial area near car market (opposite the emirates auction) There are couple of big accessory shops on same road.
Asking price was 750 dhm for a pair (negotiable, based on your skills :015:) but i think it's a very good deal.

Hi lift jack should be normally used on rims, using straps, as per attached pic. However the stability of lifted vehicle is always the problem. Therefore standard hydraulic jack is recommended, where the load spec is always critical. With 2T jack it is impossible to lift Hummer...strawb;10818 wrote:the high lift jack is not so much of a requirement in doing off road in the sand. they are more so of an aesthetic thing especially if you dont have steel front and rear bumpers to anchor the high lift jack on.
A regular 3 ton hydraulic alligator jack and wooden board would be cheaper and would serve the same purpose.

if they are the same size as the one bu salem or silvester has, then at 480 dhm it's deal of the year :011:Desert Lizard;10825 wrote:definitly bigger than 4", haven't measured nor are there any specs on the boxes, but they're bigger
If i remember it correctly bu salem mentioned the price as 850 dhm.

I was at BMW road looking for the lights...but instead i found Steel Front Bumper!! Placed an order and they will fit it in the evening.... Gave them a advance and the total cost is AED2000 Including fitting.
Saw a similar one in the shop( Century Trading) which was far a LC, the steel seemed to be of a good thickness and also the welding, the Mounts and the overall finish was good.
Will go back in the evening to fit the bumper and also check out the lights....Let keep you posted!!

It seems that you are a very quick buyer, the price looks suspiciously low...CAMEL;10829 wrote:I was at BMW road looking for the lights...but instead i found Steel Front Bumper!! Thais what i thought, The price is LOW....i checked with ICON...They wanted AED 3500 just to talk about it, Then they said it was custom made and they would fabricate what i wanted and any thing i wanted would be EXTRA... I didn't know what to say....Just put my head down and walked out!!!
When i saw this one...i thought what could be different with the ones ICON will fabricate....the thickness of the steel is good, the welding seam is fine, the mountings attach to the Chassis, comes with small FOG lamps, Turn Indicators, Only thing is it is made for the PATROL by a factory in China....

I'm very curious to see it. My robust front bumper weights around 40 kg (Icon) and I paid exactly 3.5K in 2006, custom made. I hope for you, you will not see any difference at the first pulling...CAMEL;10831 wrote:Thais what i thought, The price is LOW....i checked with ICON...They wanted AED 3500 just to talk about it, Then they said it was custom made and they would fabricate what i wanted and any thing i wanted would be EXTRA... And now, my bumper is in hospital, 3rd time in its life-cycle...

I have pulling eyes and a hook mounted on the Chassis it self....did not see any pulling eyes or anything on the bumper itself.....Looked like it would give me better approach angle...and being steel would be able to resist some touching...
Any ways you will see it on Friday....Hope you approve!!
Also i found a garage in Ajman...they prepare cars for rally...they have a couple of good fabricators (TIG Welding)....got a mount made for the flag....also getting a Bash plate made from them!!
In case we think we need re-enforcement to the bumper, i can get it done....
