Another great trip from Almost 4x4 We had the opportunity to visit fossil rock and camel rock. We had quite a few stuck-ups but as usual our marshals were great. Over all a wonderful experience........
Thanks Silverster, Hamdan and Katib

Hi Guys

Yes, another great drive. Candi and I both had a fantastic morning.

Wheels rolled promptly at 08:00, which is always appreciated. Thanks Silvester.

Learning to drive on the side of the dune was the main focus of the day. At one place we even repeated the exercise a few times. Some of the guys were having a hard time and with a bit of encouragement and coaching, got it figured out. The big grin on their faces and cheers from the rest off us just goes to show what almost4x4 is about.

I have not had the opportunity to drive on a Friday for a few weeks and there is a noticeable improvement in the skills of most of the drivers. We done guys and girls.

Thanks to the almost4x4 team. Without you, we would be lost and probably have probably spent the day in a shopping mall......

Regards

Well it was my second time attending the infamous CATCH ME IF YOU CAN trip... this trip is a real test for newbies to practice what they have learned so far and also learn new tricks.

I was kind of nervous coming to this trip as last time didn't turned out to be a good one for me because i couldn't perform the way i expected...

The drive started well, Silvester decided to make me the sweeper for the first part of the drive which was a great feeling in itself :P thanks silvester for the opportunity.

The speed of the convoy was a bit slower then last time but it was good. We had a few popouts and stucks but they were taken care of. It was exactly the same route as last time which meant that i had the opportunity to make up for the last time and perform better in all the mini exercises that we had during the trip. It went great.
Guess what I also got a chance to pull a stuck car out, my first ever, Thanks WASEEM for getting stuck and providing me with this opportunity :011:

So it was a great trip, very well managed by silvester. Thanks to Al Khatib and Hamdan for taking care of us...
Had a good chit chat with all you guys specially Samr, Sarookh, Fadi, Darshan, Medlen and Miss D.

Hope to see you all next time.

Pwood and FSL, you guys took the words out of my mouth. Nothing more to say other than that we enjoyed the trip.

I couldn't have said it any better as well guys! it was a pleasure meeting a lot of new faces :) I really had a great time and learned so much. I had my first car damage and lost my rear bumper, it was bound to happen anyways. Sadly I am now sure that I need to change my Pajero cause I believe the traction control will always limit me from doing more than what my Pajero can perform. Hopeful next time you see me I'll be in a Wrangler or a Cherokee!! All the best for next time everyone :048: CHEERS

27th morning began with a wake-up call at 530am as I wanted to join my first newbie+/intermediate driving experience with Almost4x4. The meeting point was Emarat Petrol Pump on Sharjal-Kalba Road, which is around 30-40 minute drive from my home at 0730 hours. The drive was led and organized my Caprihorse. Here I met Sami, FSL after almost 2 months. Hello guys.

After taking the mandatory attendance of drivers, Caprihorse led us to the deflecting location at sharp 0800 hours, and we spent an half an hour in preparing our beasts. The group comprised of Jeeps, Pathfinders, FJs, big Toyota and Chevrolet pickups and Mitsubishis.

Driving from fossil rocks to camel rocks to Dave’s dune in the real soft sand was fun - especially climbing the dune side-ways. Driving in soft sand was a challenge and most of us successfully completed it. Kudos to Almost4x4 marshals for managing bunch of us with varied experience and our toys. Some members did face challenges with pop-outs which were fixed immediately by the marshals. We all learn new ways of dealing with challenges.

I personally liked the deep descend after the camel rock, where Marshal Al Khatib & Hamdan joined the group and guided and instructed each of us (yes, each of us). With marshals’ professional approach I do feel safe while driving in the sand dunes. Thanks Al Khatib & Hamdan.

Our leader Caprihorse is a tough task master and ensures that we learnt right techniques. He led the group successfully, and we were lucky to have him as a leader. I like his approach on trail details, helpfulness and an ability to handle enthusiastic desert maniacs.

The chosen trail was full of surprises, beautiful & varied landscape (a treat for photographers), challenges, rocks in the midst of sand. Thanks guys for choosing such a trail.
We finished visiting our destinations in pre-defined time and headed back to tarmac near Al Faya. It was a great trip and felt it should have never ended. Guys, this was the best birthday gift I ever had. Thanks Almost4x4 for making my day, and hope to join for more trips in future.

Almost4x4 not only gives an opportunity to learn correct sand driving techniques but also encourages meeting a lot different people with same passion. Right Sarookh?
