Hi.....Can any1 suggest some good camping places within a one hour drive......GPS coordinates wud be much appreciated:003:

Within one hour drive of where? If you take 311 at nonpeak hours and drive the limit you can reach RAK from Dubai in an hour (or less!).

ACE [N 25 13.431E 55 21.560] or Carrfour [N 25 15.178E 55 19.881] both are good for camping gears.

I just saw a shop called Decathlon in Mirdif city center but it seems more expensive.

Good comping spot in one hr driving from Dubai is not possible. u need at least 2h other wise ur comping will cost more than 1 night in Bab Al Shams Resort (with all the Radar fines).

You still have the option of BBQing in Mushrif park (google map). That will be less than one hr drive but the park is awesome. (best in UAE in my opinion).
