Ohhh LIWAAAAAAAA … Ohhh My LOVE …..

On Friday evening after finishing my duty I head up to Arada with My Passenger "Eskimoz" reaching there by mid night. The Temperature there was 8C and found the Abubaker brothers were sitting couple of millimeters away from the bon-fire. I joined them enjoying the pure sky where the full milky way was visible. After couple of minutes Abubaker came and junior Abubaker was his passenger. At one point, I had a feeling to change the camp name to Abubakers Camp 😃, after that Germain and Lenny Joined and went for bed.

We slept after 2 hours of chitchatting while sitting over the bonfire under the stars 😃.

In the morning, we had our breakfast around the fire to store some energy for the day, then we packed to start the drive by 8am. we had the meeting, and I was assigned as a second lead in which i was super happy to be a second lead in LIWA Intermediate drive. We started the drive at Arada entering couple of big dunes were we really enjoyed the fast drive and jumping from a chain to the second till we reached the buggy dune where we had our lunch break. We have some rest and to be honest I wanted this break to end ASAP as I was really excited to continue the drive.

The best part of Liwa that it surprises you with hidden gems as you drive more. We continued our drive in which it was even more exciting than the 1st half, as the dune were bigger and our speed was increasing as we drive more. I was telling @Mabubaker that if we didn’t have commitment at Moreeb in the evening we should had continued the drive till the following day.

When we were around 10 km away from Moreeb, we found 2 suck cars where one of them was broken down. I pulled the 1st stuck car (the Landcruiser) then we decided to rescue the broken down car (Patrol) till the gatch road. So, we decided to pulled him via train method. I was the car in the middle and @Ehab was in the front. We started the rescue mission crossing couple bowls and crests till we reached to safety. The guys were supper happy that we helped them, even they took a group photo with us for the memory.

After that we continued to Moreeb in which the crowd was increasing as we get closer.

As A summary, we crossed nearly 110km for it was FANTASTIC drive, taking into consideration that my Passenger was telling me that this was his best day ever. So Great thanks to @Mabubaker for that amazing drive and can't wait for the next one.

See you soon in Sand

Finished work on Friday at 7:30pm then headed with Amin straight to the Dark Side of Liwa. Arrived after midnight found @KIMOz and his Eskimoz together with @tabu and Yazan aroundthe campfire while @Dauntless and @Ehab were asleep. Few moments later @Germain and @Lenny arrived.

With @KIMOz and son in second lead position and @Dauntless in sweep we kicked off the drive navigating the beauty of Liwa and searching for some hidden gems.

Since we had a smaller convoy, I decided to dive into each an every chain on the way, testing the convoy ability to navigate the might dunes of Liwa. And indeed all did well.

Liwa intermediate drives are very special to me, for many reasons including:
- Creating lines is much more difficult comparing with any other desert in UAE.
- Eneregizes the reflexes as you need to be always ready for surprises.
- Which makes you ready to hit any other dunes with confidence.

The cherry on top, at least two new areas where discovered with beautiful dunes.

Thank you @Ehab for keepingbthe convoy safe. Thanks @KIMOz for taking the second lead position and @Dauntless for sweeping.

See you soon!

Liwa is one of the most incredible places to drive in the UAE . Pair that with the beautiful weather, and you’ve got the perfect excuse to drive all day.

I met up with Germain at the last gas station at 1130 pm, and we headed together to the meeting point.
Mabubaker nailed the name of the drive. The skies were some of the darkest I’ve ever seen, making the night sky unbelievably clear. The view was spectacular and Kimoz captured it beautifully in a few pictures.
We discovered that Mabubaker apparently had another brother hanging around camp 😄. After a brief chat around the bonfire , we called it a night.

We were expecting a bigger turnout, but morning briefing revealed 7 cars. Less is more!

We kicked off on very wet sand with slightly higher PSI, easing into untouched tracks that looked like different shades of chocolate ice cream. That’s when we knew… we were in for a treat.
The first half of the day was all about adapting our driving style to wet sand. The climbs were effortless, the sand hard, and the chains just kept coming.

Mabubaker drove an incredible route, choosing the perfect pace and terrain to keep things challenging and fun.
Lunch was at Buggy Dune, where we spotted a few convoys far below us while we enjoyed what can only be described as a VIP lunch spot on top of the dune.
After lunch, Germain headed out and we escorted him to the exit , and from then on, the drive shifted into another gear.

It was pure bliss following the lines drawn by Mabubaker, flowing through stunning dune chains, completely in the zone… until we came across two stuck cars, not far from our planned exit toward Moreeb.

Guided by Mabubaker , Kimoz and Ehab handled the recoveries like absolute pros , one car at a time.
We grabbed a few photos with a group of passionate off roaders who were beyond ecstatic to be rescued ,apparently, they’d been stuck since the previous night.

The drive ended at Tal Moreeb at 5 pm , another amazing day with Almost 4x4
Thanks to Mabubaker & Ehab for the lovely drive & my fellow inters for the support

Till next time.

Arrived to a lonely campsite with only @Ehab holding the fort. As we only had 2 bags of firewood, we made haste and went to bed trying to leave a warm fire for the rest of the campers. It was a very cold night🥶 and we were up to a beautiful crisp morning.

We did not waste time in the morning. We were a relatively small convoy so after a quick briefing, we set off in the gorgeous Liwa dunes. The sand was compact and damp - still recovering from the earlier rains so I did not inflate to my usual psi and kept my tyres around 11-12psi due to the hard sand. I was given the choice of where I wanted to be in the convoy by our Lead @Mabubaker
and chose to stay as the sweeper - survival skills we in full mode. @Ehab was our Rescue Support and he chose to follow at the end of the convoy.
Liwa did not fail to satisfy with its beautiful high dunes and loooonnnggg steep balconies. AbuBaker found all the beauties including the twisting and winding pathways up and over the dunes and for the most part, there was very little chatter as we crossed the desert chain after chain. We eventually got to Buggy Dunes and seeing that it was all chewed up and unclimable, we decided to set up for lunch on the balcony and enjoy the view of the cars struggling to do.... Well we really didn't know what they were trying to accomplish 🤣 but it was entertaining none the less.
Lunch break over, we did a clean demonstration of how to correctly climb up sharp dunes 🤣 - Abu Baker being refreshed after the break - was on full 🔥 mode and sped off up and around every dune and then there was silence on the radio but roaring engines instead as we all concentrated on keeping up which we did until we met two stuck and stranded drivers. One of the guys gad been stuck there since the day before 😢 Almost 4x4 saved their day and they were impressed by the mighty FJs but we all know.... It's the driver 🤣 One of the rescued drivers was surprised to see a female driver and I let him know that I was just one of many Queens 💃💃💃👑 driving with Almost 4x4.
We ended the day in glory as we joined the Liwa festival/madness. Liwa was lit and incredibly exciting. Thank you to my fellow Inters for creating an awesome "Dark Side" ❤️
