Day starts with meeting @Lenny and @marco on the way, while Marco performs an unexpected stunt too on the highway..haha

Heading to meeting point itself was fun. Meeting point was smartly chosen by our beloved today's Marshal@Solmaz, very interesting.

Marshal @Solmaz was so kind to dedicate the lead to our new Explorer @Ehab, under her supervision and our all time guardian angel @alshamsi_m ensuring everything and everybody is taken care off well. As the drive started, it was high dunes and high dunes and soft sands. Ehab was on a turbo mode today and did amazinggggg and gave us all full adernaline rush, where we completed the Track in 2hrs 20 mins covering 40.5 kms with 212meters highest elevation.

Saturday morning served well.

Well planned and amazingly delivered. Much love to @Solmaz and @Ehab . Flawless execution and delivered like a pro!!

Before anything else to congratulate my fellow explorer Ehab on his first official lead with the Club, very well done my friend, very happy for you.

I have been to Old Sweihan many many times but when driving to the MP I was thinking that this was the first time being there in the morning and starting the drive from "the end of the chain". I do love driving towards the sun so I was really curious to see what would be the differences with afternoon drives in the opposite direction. I think I still prefer the afternoon drives in that area since I believe that the light & sand combo before sunset is one of the best possible but I also enjoyed a lot today's drive so very much looking forward to going there again in the morning.

Very enjoyable drive with a nice flow, good clean lines and everyone played it safe following the rules which made the drive very easy to support. Not easy to achieve in a "narrow" area like Old Sweihan with a large convoy (14 cars in total) so well done to everyone and mainly to the leading duo.

Thank you Solmaz & Ehab for organising, planning and leading the drive. Bu Salem & Carlos for supporting it and all of the drivers for making it possible.

See you on the sand soon.

Hi Almosters

My first lead was an incredible journey. I vividly remember my CM a few years ago. I also recall the time when I got stuck in the flat with my family in Al Qudra and had to ask police for help to get out. 🫣🫣🫣

Now, I lead very experienced drivers in one of the most advanced areas. This was not possible without the guidance of our Founder and Marshals over the years. I don’t recall a single trip where there wasn’t a learning experience, regardless of the level or the area.

They took us step by step, provided us with ample guidance and support, and made us one of the best offroaders in the country, if not the region. They taught us how to be highly organized, always prepared, ensure everyone’s safety, and most importantly, how to drive.

I am truly grateful to each and every one of the marshals I’ve driven behind.

Special thanks to @alshamsi_m and @Solmaz for the trust and support today. Their guidance during the trip was instrumental in the success of this trip.

My fellow drivers, you all did an amazing job. A few second tries and one self-recovery without any issues at all. Communication was impeccable, and no risks were taken.

My fellow explorers @David and @CARLOSS thanks for the support. I can’t wait to see you leading!

Forgot to extend my special Thanks to @Moustafa . Like they say gratitude is in attitude.. sometimes, we take things for granted or tend to forget. So, yea, @Moustafa Thank you for the watermelon again. You make an effort at every drive to serve watermelon. How thoughtful! Watermelon really helps in the steaming heat and now, i guess, every member who has been on a drive with you is aware and feels secure that, if @Moustafa is in our drive, we will sure get watermelon
Hahaha... Thank you again bro.

Hello Everyone

Today’s trip in Old Sweihan was a special 😍

As our convoy leader @Ehab led for the first time
With support of Marshal @Solmaz , our Founder @alshamsi_m , our great explorer @Carlos and @David and finally our Advance @Petr

Our leader @Ehab did an impressive job. Managing big convoy of14 car , that’s not small task, especially in old Sweihan’s challenging terrain, but everything went smoothly.

The track featured high dunes, switches and more offering a great mix of fun and technical driving. The convoy stayed safe and organised throughout the trip, and the flow was amazing

Huge thanks to the leader for leading such a successful and enjoyable trip!

And to the support team for keeping eyes on us and support when it was needed, and all my convoy

See you all soon 🫡

Hello everyone

I hate waking up in the morning to do early morning drive, that is why I always camp near the starting point. But unfortunately it is summer and the weather is not allowing this.

In the old days we use to have a setup in the FJs where you can sleep in the car with AC on in love for all night. But unfortunately, we don't have this type of members anymore. Good old days yaeh am not durnk

Let us go back to the drive. @Solmaz was generous enough to give the leading of her drive for one of our Explorers under her supervision.

Our leader @Ehab did a great job for keeping the level for the intermediates without missing the sweet taste of challenge cool

Great day and another successful drive for our members. Looking forward to see more from the other Explorers.

Special thanks for @CARLOSS & @David for the support.

Take care for now and keep the sand flying.

Cheers
Shamsi

Well.

It was a long time since my last intermediate drive. I always drive more consistently in the summer and I had a really challenging cycling season with a lot of races and a couple of accidents. Anyway, you know you have good friend when no matter how much time you were away, everything keeps the same.

Carlos, Mgoheim and me left the city around 4:45 to drive relax and arrive with time enough as the meeting point was towards the end of the drives in that area.
I was so excited to test the camera and the new set up, it ended up being a success.

Ehab did an amazing job leading for the first time and Solmaz, Shamsi, Carlos and David were there to support if needed.
The drive was smooth with a couple of second tries and a good flow.
Looking forward to drive more behind these explores! They rock 🎸

See you soon!

Hi everyone!

Better late than never…this time my trip report came late but for a very good reason. I just wanted to have some time to make it right because this drive was very important for all and especially for one of our most beloved members: @Ehab , who demonstrated in a spotless performance the value of years in the club, more than a hundred drives and plenty of effort, dedication and joy.

If you think about that it is like Cinderella story: A guy starting from zero and with questionable driving skills (LOL) Psmiley , it is clearly the most promising future marshal in the short term cool . And that means a lot. That means that the Almost 4x4 way of doing things works and continuity is guaranteed for generations to come.

This being said, please allow me to congratulate Ehab and wish him all the best and show my recognition of all marshals and founders spending their time on him. I guess it was tough Psmiley but now you have your reward.

The drive itself, as I mentioned before, it was brilliant with just the exact combination between good flow, challenges and beautiful lines. Convoy did well with minimum interruptions actually, in 2 hours we were done in the main section of the drive. No pop-outs no cut tires only good stuff like watermelon in the break.

Thanks @Solmaz for organizing and your tips during the briefing and @alshamsi_m for the same and looking after the whole convoy including advance and explorer members thumbsup

See you soon
Carlos

Hi Guys,

It’s been a while since I’ve done a proper intermediate drive. I know that might sound funny coming from a marshal who’s constantly floating and keeping up with convoys, but when we lead or float, we mostly drive in our own style and comfort zone. While that has its own kind of fun and challenge, it’s a very different experience from driving in a convoy.

One of the things I really appreciate about Almost is how each of our beloved marshals brings their own unique driving style. Even in familiar areas, every drive feels like a new adventure depending on who’s leading.

This Saturday, I finally had the chance to experience Ehab’s lead for the first time, and it was truly refreshing and a lot of fun.

Handling a large convoy in a tight and technical area like old Sweihan is no easy task. But Ehab managed it with great flow and just the right amount of challenge. He clearly understood the assignment—and nailed it.

This drive was also a great reminder of how fun it used to be to simply be part of a convoy, learning, playing, and enjoying the journey. I’m really looking forward to more adventures with all of our fresh explorers and fellow marshals in the coming season.

Cheers,
Solmaz
