In the morning 24 cars arrived to the meeting point, within them 6 almost4x4 off-road club marshals and some intermediate and advanced drivers. After brief trip introduction we drove to the desert starting point, we deflated and explained newbies some driving techniques using orange coloured 4x4 toy. Driving towards Fossil Rock, newbies gained trust with their cars and terrain. Steep drive around Fossil Rock was for many new members a great excitement. We were progressing very well with no stuck towards Camel Rock, driving the top edges of dunes, to learn how to choose the right turning points.
At Camel Rock dunes everybody did very well to learn the right sense of decision making and braking at choosing the right way to cross various types of dunes.
From Camel Rock towards Al Fayah appeared to be relaxing track driving of this marvellous desert area. After safely crossing main road we continued towards Pink Rock and reached mountain pass.
Soft sand and steep traverse drives were increasing adrenaline level and many new drivers felt thrilling excitement of this challenging area.
After all cars climbed up to nice viewing platform, we decided to continue through undriven remaining area to get quickly to E44 road. We split the convoy into groups led by marshals and to drive towards Big Red dune. On this route, again, the drivers had a chance to learn crossing the various types of dunes, to safely pass to the target.
We reached the target around 1:30 pm, bringing all drivers safely to E44 main road.
All newbies, we hope that you enjoyed the trip and we met your expectations. You are free to express your opinion on the trip in this thread.
In the name of all marshals, we thank you very much for joining us !
