Hello Almosters,

We scheduled the drive for early morning to benefit more from the cooler weather. And I believe we finished the drive right on time when we started feeling the hot summer weather. This is also beneficial since the visibility is better in the early morning due to the angle of the sun and shadows which helps you to understand the dune forms better. When the sun goes higher the shadows will disappear which lowers the visibility.

We also drove against the sun which also helps with the visibility. I think the difference was noticeable when we changed our direction during the drive.

The wide openings between the dune chains and mid size dunes allowed us to increase the pace and practice controlling initial speed , momentum and when to turn down before you loose all your speed at top while playing on the walls. Please always remember! Moving car is the safer car . Turn down before your car loose all its potential energy ( wink physics) and cant turn down anymore and never fight gravity!. Gravity always wins!

Everyone did good and I hope you guys had fun. Thanks to all supported and participated to the drive.

Looking forward to see you again.

Regards

Good morning everyone

It is really interesting that you wake up at 5 am and the the first idea strike your mind is " shoot I'm late " slow .

Yes it was an early drive but as Daggerfall mentioned we needed that to play for 3 full hours before the heat.

We had a great time out in the sand and the lemon mint juice by rapailo treat was just what I wanted for the heat.

Thanks everyone, I believe all did good today. Till next time.

Take care thumbsup

Hello Everyone ,

It was perfect time chosen by Daggerfall for summer drives , i was the first arrived before 6 Am the weather very nice.
after the briefing given by Daggerfall , he divide us in 2 convoy one leaded by alshamsi_m and the other by himself and i was driven in 2nd convoy. i was testing the vehicle for some upgrade i did and i forget to engage the four wheel for fist 10 min. cool, the drive was perfect and everyone did well, i had good training for rescue 3 stuck vehicles have a nice day , some newbie drivers need to accelerate when making arch on the dunes otherwise they will drive much below the track and then the downside angle will be away from the track and they could get grass or ditches. All time think that the leader Marshall selecting the best and safer track for all the convoy .
Thanks for Daggerfall for organizing this trip and thanks to supporter team and to everyone they make it happened .

Cheers

Good Day Everybody,

It was a beautiful Friday morning in the desert with the 10+. have a nice day
After the regular roll call we were split into 2 convoys, i was in the convoy led by Daggerfall.

The drive was a faster paced one than before with longer, higher arches on dune sidewalls & driving alongside the crests which was new.
Daggerfall gave us a proper briefing on how to manage these & it was indeed thrilling XD

Increase in tyre pressure caused me to struggle momentarily mid drive, but once that was addressed it was all good.

We encountered a few stucks & a pop out which was swiftly handled by the team.

Thanks @Daggerfall for an amazing drive, @Yazan @Abu Odai @ Agalon @ Solmaz & the Crew for your support & guidance.

See you in the sand thumbsup

Hi Almosters!

We had a nice early morning driving!

I was in Daggerfall convoy. Marshall track was on fast pace, full of safari style arch and some nice climbing on hard and soft sand.

The convoy did well, with a few crests and popout. The area is amazing and is perfect for a next level driving, full of side crests and sliding!

Hoping to see you all next weekend!

Hello Everyone,

I was in the group lead by alshamsi_m and watched by Booy's and JockJKU's eagle eyes. This drive was probably the one most closely matches the name so far!

The pace was really fast with a lot of variations on the style. We had a few pop-outs but they get fixed with a very quick team work. Mine was one of them and I also had the issues with my other tire which was losing the air for a reason I could not figure out exactly. Sorry for the breaks that I caused. My suspicion goes to valve pin inserts and I got all the pins replaced and tested today and hope will not have the same issue next time and I will make sure the pin remain tight after deflation.

I felt like I did not have enough grip in few occasions causing over/under steering or sliding on the slopes and ended up leaving a snake track on the sand. Well, I had to blame something, which was tires, but the answer is well known by everyone, no need to repeat it here

After all this is one of the most enjoyable drive so far, but having said that, there was not a single drive I did not enjoy. Thanks for the organizers and the convoy angles.

Cheers

thumbsup Hello Almosters,

Let me start by saying I love early morning drive as the weather is much nicer at that time. It is my first trip after a long time (since before Ramadan ) and I was so excited to hit the dunes. I wont talk about the briefing and the convoy preparation as my other Almosters friends mentioned in their report already.

When I started moving in the first 5min I already had a 2nd try as I was still not acclimatized to desert driving. However, for the rest of the drive I was really shinning. I really felt that I reached a higher level of confidence and skills.

Excited for the coming trips and especially the high speed ones grin

Bu Zayed

Survivors:

After the Ramadan night drives this was the first drive for the 10+ drivers to get back on the horse and ride track on the right level ( since night drives were designed on a level below).
All drivers were expecting a challenging drive since we were all haven't had a proper 10+ drive.

As was mentioned in the other reports there were 2 convoys and I was the 4th car in alshamsi_m group with JockJKU Issa and several others on supporting roles.
The leader made it very clear from the beginning that this will be a fast pace drive with all kinds of dunes formation and style of driving.
The track was well designed. Challenging enough to provide the feeling to all drivers that this is actually a proper off-roading experience and at the same time present all members the opportunity to realize how match they have improve as off-roaders.

This drive it reminded me the Karate Kid movie where the kid is been learning bit and pieces or different techniques of offence and defense, understanding and evaluating the environment, conditions and elements but all these are been done in isolated pieces and waiting to be put together to create the final product THE PERFECT FIGHT>

To my opinion this is what this drive was all about. Bring all that we have learned and woven them together to a seamless process that portrait at the end the driver's skills that have been developed over time.

A fast paste drive, which to be delivered with a flow, one had to be ready to act instantly and with no hesitation and second thoughts. The high speed drive was presenting the challenge of keeping the convoy tight but at the same time ensure that the proper distance between drives will be maintained just far enough from each other to keep the momentum going avoiding second tries, short series of moderate climbs and arches on an S shape that will test the driver's ability to moderate speed throttle control, furthermore understanding of gravity and correct car angle placement in relation to the slop angle were all factors to be considered.

Side cresting was also in the menu and for those that were able to put all the above in order it end up to be easy and a no brainer task.

Over all I believe that the majority of the convoy did well with minor destructions and delays.

I would like to thank the organizer and supporting members for always delivering the best possible experience and I am looking forward to similar drives.

See you all on the dunes at the earliest

hi Osman,

regarding the tire which keeps loosing air/pressure , after changing the pin, ask the tire shop to remove the tire from the rim and clean the edges of both of them. it happened to me and i struggled with it for over a week till a wise man called @Abu_Jimmy advised me to do this .. and it worked :)
