Melfi The spider was out by my front path. When I went to move it all the babies on its back ran about but regrouped again shortly afterwards. As I have a dog and two cats after reading it could be harmful to them it could not be allowed to stay there! I haven't seen it since or any more but I believe they are fairly common to the region and much further afield. If it is a Wolf spider like I only guessed there are many varieties so not sure how poisonous this particular one could have been. But better be safe.

And yes FrancisJK . It was creepy. Even more so when all the little ones jumped from its back! Would have much preferred to find a little cute Gerbil near my house!

Oh I hadn't even realised all those dots were babies! Eeeeckss!!

Roughly how big was it? And whereabouts do you live? Just so I don't go anywhere near your house...!

Below is the Bosk's Fringe Toed Lizard. Spotted in the Al Qudra desert. Above are a pair of Black Necked Swans. A small number of the many wild fowl found at Al Marmoum Conservation Reserve.

Went for a Saturday afternoon drive to Al Faqaa. Spotted many Gazelles which were much too quick for me to photo. I did manage to sneak up on these Arabian Oryx and take a quick shot on my iPhone before they moved on. Makes the desert drive so much more exciting when you come across such beautiful wildlife.
