VW Touareg 4xmotion - any good for sand?

Dear Kris,
If you relook closely at the list suggested by Abu Jimmy, I guess there are options wherein you might really not have to compromise on comfort in any significant way. I mean think about Prado, Landcruiser and Xterra from the list.
