Thank you Chief Al Shamsi, Marshals Yoghybear, Abu Jimmy and other Marshals (sorry, I couldn’t introduce myself) and fellow members for the wonderful afternoon trip. It was my second trip as a CM and hope forward to earning a star, as I managed to get my tools checked by the Marshal after the drive.
As far as the trip was concerned, I guess we were introduced to crossing “baby” dunes today and was glad that we did not have to descend the steep dunes that we did last Friday. I felt that I was able to descend with better control today because of the lesson I learnt from the chief last week – do not use the brake too much during the descent. This was the first learning for me which I was able to implement well today.
Did get stuck on top of the dune once today and Marshal (sorry, I didn’t know his name) helped me in getting out by self recovery (this technique was my lesson for today – thanks Marshal).
I guess everyone would have left happily today, as there were no major stucks, as far as I know.
Finally managed to get a weak shot of the Gazelles at the end of the trip, which is posted below.
Once again thanking you all ALMOSTERS for this superb desert outing and salute to Chief and Marshals for their patience, I await posts of other members.

Hello All,

What a wonderful afternoon yesterday! Beautiful area and you couldn't ask for better weather. I brought my two young sons with me and they had a great time. I told them they would get 5 dirham each time they could spot a Gazelle and I am happy to report that I am 100 AED the poorer. I think the lesson from this trip was that even in smaller dunes you must respect the desert and focus on proper techniques. I was really happy to see my fellow new members really benefiting from the exceptional support and training from the Marshals. You could really see all of us improving from dune to dune over the last two weeks. On that note I have to send out a huge thank you to the marshals! I think there was six of them out there for our single convoy. Their cumulative amount of knowledge and experienced is only surpassed by their willingness take time out of their lives to share it. Please know that it is very much appreciated!

Hello Family... First all of a BIG thank you to Al Shamsi and his team and all the members who were part of this drive for the wonderful afternoon drive.

AlShamsi had already warned us of what we should expect in the drive, especially with the car count reaching 13(lucky number for BuSalem) and the day being a Friday :)

After the short breifing at our meeting point we all headed out to our drive start point where we all deflated and got ready. Once done, we were all given our positions in the convoy and set out.

The drive started quite easy and it felt like it was just going to be like that as we are out for Gazelle Hunting and escaping the Bees :ninja:. Soon after a short while started the testing part... THE CLIMBS AND THE FALLS.

BuSalem had already warned me "Duli... you are gonna hate me for this drive" but I must say, after last week's drive I feel the improvements in going thru the crests quite easily and all this would not be possible without the help and guidance from BuSalem and his wonderful team.

This drive was called the Gazelle Hunt... As I was placed right at the end of the convoy I always missed the Gazelles by the time I reached the holding point :sad: But at the end of the drive managed to see 4-5 Gazelles at once :cheerful:.

Overall the drive was really amazing with excellent weather and beautiful views (the desert is always beautiful :) )

Thank you everyone, especially the marshals, for a great day.

I felt like a bit of flying fish yesterday, sometimes I get over confident and then I lose it completely. While I know I should follow the tracks as closely as possible, I need to not fixate on that and take a moment to adjust my approach to the dune. I need to keep a little bit of speed when going sideways and not chicken out.
The backwards wiggle down the dune was epic!

I am about 75% closer to figuring out that wretched radio. Thank you for the loan.
