Something broke off :(

After the water pump and radiator leak issue got resolved, I went to the Emarat service station this morning for a steam wash and cleaning, in time for the annual passing and registration.

The dude at the service station showed me that the metal thingie on which the quick disconnects (sway bar) are attached to, has broken. Since a picture speaks a thousand words, I've attached a photo. Basically point B was part of point A... it was just one metal piece which snapped. Oh come on, its metal... how on earth can metal just snap? Jeep Thing??

This is the front right side. When I drive and leave the steering wheel, the Jeep begins moving to the left. First I thought its a wheel allignment issue, but after discovering this thingie, I would think they are related.

What bad timing... a day before the vehicle passing :054:

Any idea whether this is a definate 'fail' for registration purposes or should I try my chances? Any advice on what all needs replacing? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Dear it is a fail for passing , it's better to if and go for passing, or do a welding and go for passing , any way it will fail due to welding, but u will get few days more after the first passing fail. Enough time to fix the issue

Hi

Ok, I am confused.

I understand it will fail the roadworthy check like it is.
Are you saying a welded repair will also fail?

I would assume a good weld job before the check would be enough to get a pass.
After all, it was welded on in the factory.

Regards
Paul

Sorry, I have been in and out of the country, so havent been on the forum.

I had taken my Jeep to Robbies Motorsport. They were the ones who had done the lift kit modifications on the vehicle in the first place. They told me that there are several types of weidling, the MIG type (Metal Inert Gas) is the one that is RTA approved, and they would do undertake that.

I got my Jeep back the next day, a friend took it for passing (as I was travelling) and the car passed the RTA test.

2 weeks later, I took a look below the Jeep again to see how the weild was doing. To my utter shock, the entire thing is now missing... the broken part along with my quick disconnect pins etc... its just missing..!!! So the weld was useless and now all the broken parts are missing too :016: :019: :035:

Now I am stuck again... cant take the risk of taking my Jeep for any of the Alostt4x4 trips until the Jeep is fixed, and with my travel coming up again, Roxanne just has to wait (I almost have a tear in my eye).

So that was the update.

My 2006 Wrangler recently got Error Code P0344 "Camshaft position sensor intermittent". Its running normal below 2500 RPM, starts shaking on above 2500 RPM.

Kindly share possible solution if anyone had this problem in the past.
