Staun deflators

Good afternoon all,
Just visited ARB in Dubai, was surprised to find out that Staun has closed its factories. But Staun's website is still operational... Hummm
The standard staun deflators (set of 4) is sold at aed 250, up from aed 100 according to their own sales person. How much did you guys get them for? Just wanted to check before purchasing them. They said they have only 3 pcs left becoz the factory is shut, and now sell SmittyBilt instead.

Also look at Trailhead Automatic Tire Deflators. Have been using them for a while now and are quite good. Available at Ramy for AED 235 (after discount) and also at www.blingmytruck.com (with free delivery in dubai).

Useless, you need to watch them and permanently run around the car, otherwise you'll get 4 flat tyres in one shot at deflation point. They were used about many years back, and abandoned immediately as EZ-Deflator came to the market.

It's a mechanical issue, there is still a certain air leak, and if you leave them unattended, for some time, the tyre will be empty. Additionally, you never could trust them, and always we have been setting higher pressure and adjusting the right pressure manually, with a key or chopstick, which was the most fastest and effective deflation tool at that time (chopstick). I think, that I have still some of the them inside my glove-box as backup...Melfi;17764 wrote:I was just checking the website. Get a good accurate tire gauge and deflate old school style.
Gives you a better sense of tire pressure awareness. I have the ARB deflator but I prefer doing the old school method of removing the pin and monitoring by time and tire height and track width as I deflate.
It took a bit of getting used to but it helped me a lot in terms of driving feel when it comes to the tire pressure required as per sand softness.

Old school style is always better , but , its harder as well . specially when i call you to help me searching for the lost pin that flew away ... :005:
