Hi everyone,
was wondering what tyres do you recommend for FJ Cruiser, where to find them and approximately how much, the rims are 16"
p.s. I don't like tyres that rub the inside of the fenders
thanks in advance for your suggestions

I see that you've been a member for some time but never been to the desert with us. What do you want from your tires? On road performance? Off-road? Aggressive look? Cheap? Expensive? Brand? No Brand? Noise is also something to think about when choosing tires.

Hello Desert Hawk
I would recommend Cooper H/T if you are all time SAND & ROAD .... if you want all train then I would recommend Cooper A/T 3 which replaced Cooper A/TR
Regards

You are right Gorgin,
I'm based in AD, and bit lazy to drive to DXB and back for a trip, but will definitely join in the next trip suitable for my rank in sweihan, hopefully soon, hint..hint.. Caprihorse ;)

Yeap, challenge accepted my dear friend from Abu Dhabi, normally I would suggest Bridgestone 275/70R16 H/T, but recently I experienced huge quality problems with this tyres, so I'm not more advising anybody to install these tyres at the moment. For me generally Cooper H/T or Yokohama Geolandar H/T, same dimensions as above and approx. same price, are the favorites at the moment.

LOL...you mean Marshal rank !!!!! Dont be coy now !
By now you should be aware my dear Desert Hawk that when it comes to tires there is no ONE BESTEST tire for off road or the FJ cruiser. It all depends from person to person.
In general the current drift is as below.
1. Yokohama Geolanders.
2. Cooper At but not the STT for sure !
3. BFG TA KO --- my personal choice - runnign 90.000 Km on mine and still going strong with no pop outs and hardly any stucks deflated to 9 PSI.
If money was no object I would loof at BFG M/T and also teh Kumho M/S
Now for the FJ I would suggest 275/70/16 which are very +1 over teh stock size and give great handling on and off road

@ Wasif, What I meant by rank is ANIT, caprihorse already received this request from me verbally few weeks ago, I haven't done any trips with this club, so I'm an absulute newbie.
As for the tyres, I sure will decide for myself, but I wanted to know other people opinion, no harm in sharing.

I had earlier the BFG M/T on my FJ... run almost 90,000kms... and it worked fairly well... but as the thread is a little aggressive it tends to dig into the sand when you are on soft sands... so then you will have to air it down to 6-8 psi... but then fear of pop-out
I have recently switched to Cooper HT.... and it performs much better than the BFG... great handling on road and on sand...
But as they say... it all depends on the driver what he is comfortable with... Every drive will have his own story on tires as per their driving skills...
For me... my vote goes to Cooper HT
