Look at the clearance in the front, middle and back. The skeptics before the trip were saying: "She will loose all plastic parts, but OxanaLu disappointed them all, she returned back with no a slight sign of damage"
Dear guys, thank you very much for your support and appreciation, I could never do this trip without your tips and advices. It was the most amazing adventure that my car and me experienced here since we've came to Dubai.

I hope you will organize another round for "babies" soon :), so we can obtain even more off-road skills under your leadership.

Love you all! Thanks :)

700NM!!!! and in the 1500-3500rpm range. :OSMILEY: That is some monstrous low end torque!! I'm curious to see the pulling power this has in 4L while pulling some one put.

Still the car's angles do seem like they would usually have caused a club member some difficulties, which might've resulted in minor damages. Oxana must've done a great job of managing. Well done.

As it became an important issue, I checked in the manual and wrote down some information about my car. Mercedes GL500, 2009; rated output 285 kW/388bhp; rated torque 530 Nm; at engine speed 2,800-4,800 rpm; displacement 5,461 cm3. These numbers don't tell me anything, but I hope it will help you to understand how I survived :).

As a matter of fact I have a VERY basic knowledge of a deferential, ESP, engine ect. :049: I drive my car by feelings and intuition. You might be laugh at me, but my car has a name - Warrior. I believe that he is fighting for me and I heal his soul :) this is the way of our relations with him.

Sami, I don't really worry about approach and departure angles, because Warrior has an AMG package with a front and rear under bumper protectors made from aluminum. If I choose the right time for a "free falling" or the right speed for a uphill entrance , a car will be sliding on these protectors like a ski on snow. However it wasn't that easy to manage during the climbings :ouch...it hurts:

The biggest problem that I figured out over the CM is the heavy weight of the vehicle. And I haven't decided how to deal with this yet.
I hope guys we will solve it together one day :003:

this is not an issue but these are interesting facts that the petrol heads ( which most of us are here) want to know or good to know

With Almost4x4 every car has a name or has to have a name there is forum for it where you need to put your car picture and name it :)

This is how it should be :) you create connection with your car on road and it works easily as both of you ( you and your car) in your comfort zone, BUT when you take it off-road you put both you are your car out of your comfort zone but having said that CM drives are planned in such a way so that you create connection between you and your car

Well I hope you dont get into that situation where your car is in Free falling state (this doesn't sound or look good) but like I said this was your first drive and with the time you will come to know how to tame your warrior for dessert.

Nice Nick for her (as with the ships, our toys are wearing always female names). So in your case, the best would be to have a nice sticker always...

The numbers you wrote down are correct and others would like to just dream about those, as they are hardly reaching the half.
The weight of your car is 2.4T, which is quite acceptable, comparing with Nissan or other reliable cars.

Forget Sami, he is driving Peep...

OxanaLu you & your machine did well in CM drive. I checked your car in the inflation area after the drive... It's just dusty and that's it! You have a one Luxurious Warrior with you. Keep it up!

It is true that kind of constant power would be fantastic. If its 2.4T then it is lighter than I would have guessed, and like capri said it is perfectly fine.

Regarding chiefs comment it is sound advice, especially because I have the urge within me to tell you to change tires and rims, but that's a jeep thing and you should ignore it for your own sake. The AMG rims are too nice to replace and you should keep them to truly keep it a Luxurious Warrior.

you are right. My mind was searching for a comfortable way for both of us the whole time during the trip

two weeks back I jumped with a parachute and a "free falling" sounds very romantic to me, but definitely I wouldn't like to fall down with my car literally :019:
