Video is very good from two aspects:
- It's not long and nicely edited
- In the first half it can be seen, how important is to keep the right distance from the leading car, you didn't
- In the second half, it is shown the correct distance. I'm not sure what or who convinced you, to do it right. Maybe the second round?

Many thanks for your feedback Capri, points noted. I am a little confused though by point 2, are you saying I was too close to Al Shamsi? if anything I thought I was too far back in the latter part of the video? I didn't get any comments on the day from Al Shamsi but having watched it back again, there were a number of places where if the leading car had issues I would have had little time to react as second lead and preserve the safety of the cars behind. I will bear that in mind next time out. Thanks again. :have a nice day:

You got it right. As per 2. you were very close and as the leading car always takes some time to choose the right way at some places, in some climbs there might not be enough space for the second car to stop, so he may end in dangeruous situation or return. The second driver must read the dunes and think as a leading car, then you can adjust the distance accordingly. As per our standards, the convoy is always following the second car, as it shows the right way and is following adjustment comments from the leader.
As per 3. you were maintaining the correct distance and I assumed that you felt uncomfortable in the first section, so you adjusted naturally your distance.
