Here is my late trip report (sorry :evanwhateverlinethi) with some notes that might be helpful in my future trips and not only mine...
Let's go back to last Saturday.
The drive was really technical and required more thinking than repeating the movements of the car in front. Especially because while crossing small dunes with sharp descents my long wheelbase Legend was the third, forth, fifth, then forth again car after cars with a short wheelbase. The rear bumper was struggling a lot that day. Honestly speaking I was amazed how Yoghy could find so many of these dunes!
After a while, I figured out the right speed and the right position for Legend in this terrain and the rest of the journey I was polishing up that technic and working out on my own goals. The two own tasks I was working on came out from the previous trip and were: to practice walki-talki communication skills and to keep the required minimum distance.
Dave you were actually very lucky because I am known as the person who always drives too close :009:
Anyway, in that drive my lessons surprisingly appeared from an unexpected side, and I prepared it here to share with you. (Don't mind the counting, lessons 1-5 were on my previous trip.)
Lesson 6. "The convoy system with tracks are not a train with railways, I don't need to drive exactly the same track despite the fact that we have to follow each other. Whatever good for my car is good for me!"
No matter what is your position in the convoy and what is the condition of the track, you always can find a way to go because as Yoghy said: "Even 10 centimeters can make a big deference!" Another tip that helped me to beat my fear from the spoiled track came from my Master when I was complaining about going after suffering cars - "It is more interesting as it is more challenging. I loved always to be in the back".
Guys in the 5+ Newbies level we can complain about anything exclude a spoiled track! :yo !:
Lesson 7. "Read instruction and learn how to use
required equipment before the case of emergency is happened"
The good think of inheriting Chief Marshal's car is to be fully-equipped for a Newbie, Intermediate, Advanced and Marshal's level ( I have Marshal's whistle for example). So I enjoyed the check tool's procedure a lot.
However, when I saw how Redshark tried to fix the first time ever pop out, I realized that the required equipment in our cars might be really needed one day, and it doesn't make a big sense to have it, if I don't know how to use it.
Soooo, it's a good time to ask ourselves, are we really able to help our cars with all these navigators, shovels, jacks, woods in case of getting stuck, having a pop out or the lost in the desert? :032: ...
