We won't be crossing the actual border between UAE and Oman. There's a small stretch of Omani territory, Wilayat Mahdah, where you have to show your UAE ID or passport to the UAE Border guards to ascertain that you are a legal UAE resident.
This procedure was set up to check the illegals sneaking into the UAE through Oman.
Looking forward to seeing everyone In Sha Allah.
It's not true... we will be crossing Oman border twice on the way to Hatta Pools...
So have your passport ready for all your passengers.

Hi Capri. I think Madie is right. We need only Emirates Ids to cross the check post.

During our last visit to Hatta Pools in May 2013(http://www.almost4x4.com/vb/showthread. ... atta-Pools), we passed through 3 check points (two were on the way to Hatta and the last one was before pools as pools are in Oman) and showed only Emirates ID, however it is safe to keep passport with us.

Guys, wake up. It is not about how many borders you have to cross, but that you have to have documents.
Hello Capri ,Maddie And Fida ,

All of you are right

we will be crossing the Borders (as on map) and you will see the border fence twice as Chief mentioned,
but we will not be crossing the Omani immigration check point where you need to get tourist visa to enter Oman as Maddie mentioned ,the first two check points passports or Emirates ID's are required.

as far as i remember there is a way around these check points if am not mistaken ,after SHELL petrol station we take right and then through wadi Ash shiyah till the pools nice views through the way also been there maybe three years back.
Try the way around, maybe we'll see you one day. BTW, do you think that Omanis don't know their territory?

Chief, the actual boder is Wijajah, the international one.

Wilayat Mahdah is Omani terrritory inside UAE. Even the pools location, Wadi Khamis and Wadi Gahfi are under the same Wilayah (state?). I know exactly what the reason was behind setting up the check points. Mainly Afghan, Pakistani and Iranians would sneak into Oman by sea and cross into UAE via Hatta pools. Chief, you have been to Wadi Madha? After Fujairah? Its also Omani Territory but no check points there, because its landlocked. Masfoot beforee Hatta is Ajman, also the small village right before entering the trail is Ajman.

Last Eid ul Fitr, we were turned back from the third checkpost because we weren't carrying our passorts. They said it was some request from the Omani police. But after a few day since then, the only requirment was UAE ID.
