And Gravity it was but this time it was pulling everyone from every cornor of UAE and bringing them to Al faqa :)

I had flight to catch in the morning and I asked my mum that I am going to see my 2nd family so she prepared food only enought that I could carry in plane :) so anyone / everyone who tasted the food that I brought It was speciall as it came specially for you guys Across 7 seas :)

I joined the camp later as I had to pick up a Friend who took a day off specially to attend the camp and see for herself what I've been telling her about Almost4x4 as my 2nd family, whatever she thinks about it is mentioned in her report ( which I swear didnt ask her to write a report).

So I joined the camp at around 10ish and I could see that every was in their happiest mode, I quickly setteld and starting catching up with guys Thanks alot Bu Salim for Coffee, Bu Shahid for sweet, Defragmentor and Friends for shisha and bluffing game :)
Thanks Armin for advise on Trucks, Thanks Al khatib, and Alex for Cake and I cant thanks enough everyone who was there at the camp site it was almost full moon and it was amazing.

In the moring we met the Day2 guys nice to catch up with Iqsan, Ginger, bu shahid, Hocky and all.

We were divided into two convoys, I was in the 2nd one, lead by Bu Salim, this was my 2nd time I was following bu Salim, and I tell you what, it was simply the best, mix of everything, high dunes, slopes, technical cresting, it was great learning curve as had a good pace all the way and I must say All the newbies did a great job.

The best part was when I got Eidah ( eidi) from bu Salim, This is going straight into my colleciton or MOST VALUABLE ITEMS

Near the end some of the passengers were not felling 100% so (me, defragmentor,and dimple) were escorted by Dessert lizard ( a great guy always in great mode) to the end point using an easy route,

I joined the camp late around 8:30 pm with my family , the weather was amazing and we enjoyed the camp with the full moon and Eid treatment, kids enjoyed it to the maximum.
next day I was with the convoy 2 which considered as training day for us the new upgraded intermediates where we were given the task to rescue and support, the drive went very smooth and enjoyable, it was a nice experience to drive behind the sweeper, the second part of the trip i had to take an easy rout as much as possible as my family were not feeling well and got sick.

I would like to thank all the Marshals for organizing this Suppper Duppper trip, this was the best Newbie trip I have ever experienced. I would like to thank Bu Salem for his great lead and also for the Eidi & sweets. I would like to thank Desert Lizard & Strawb for keeping a close watch on us, ensuring we are driving well and on track. Thank you Al Khatib & Iskandar for the cake. Bu Shahid for the baklava. :have a nice day: Looking forward for more of these drives along with camping :want !:. Thank you all friends for your company. Hey Almosters, another successful trip and a very nice weekend. I am not going to comment on the night camp and jump directly into the Newbie drive:

I was a floater on this trip, tasked with observation and support, which gave me ample opportunity to observe how the drivers did. Busalem was leading the newbies, Hockey was on sweep, Strawb was a floater too, and we had a bunch of new intermediate drivers as well. The intermediate drivers were given the choice to either drive behind the Sweeper or within the convoey and get the chance to practice rescue under supervison, from the get go they chose the rescue option.

First of all this was one of the best ever newbie tracks I have been on, thanks to Bu Salem for an excellent lead. Everyone should be thankful too. It was that good, period.
Overall everyone did very well indeed, the pace was fine and we didn't have any incident of concern, the stuck and punctured tire were dealt with quickly.

Now as for the areas of development:
1- Some drivers, were not in proper control over the cars, and although this is expected at newbie level, the control which should have been applied was to SLOW down. This is specially important when you finish an arch. With plenty of speed, I could see people suffering to regain control over the speedy vehichle on their way down.

2- Some driver was too slow, not slow, just too slow. In the sand, you want your car's momentum to carry you as far as possible, because depending on engine power alone won't be enough. If you are concerend about damaging your car, keep in mind that this is a newbie track and the lead marshal has taken extra to make it as smooth as possible. We aren't going off-road to damage our cars and do stunts, but off-roading is an extreme sport and not for the faint of heart.

3- Discipline: this is by far the most important part of being in a convoy. The newbies did exceptionally well, there was no need to remind any one of what they needed to do. I wish I could say the same about ALL the intermediates.

I understand that there is a dose of excitment and enthusiasm that comes with the promotion, (I've been there too) but you must keep in mind that once a convoey moves, everyone must obey the directions of the lead marshal and the sweeper. No one has the right to give them instructions. This rule is the corner stone of an organized convoey. A convoey is like a sentence, it starts with a Capital Letter (The Leading Marshal) and ends with a Period (the Sweeper) and no one outside this sentence should get in, otherise things get messed up.

Now for everyone who thought this was very technical, I would like to burst your bubble and say: naaahhh, not even close. If Bu Salem was to go technical in Al Faqah, we would not be able to cover a quarter of the distance we did in twice the time we had, and every intermediate would have pleanty of rescue practice.. This is more reason to drive with Almost4x4, where you get to learn off-roading through a structured syllabus, so keep coming on these trips and have fun.

Finally I would like to aplogise if I was harsh, but I prefer to speak it up as politley as possible now, rather than having an issue later.

Not really you were just up to the mark and when it comes to lesson / summary it has to be like that and we all must appreciate the kind words no matter what tone they are in they are there to help us learn new things.
