Its the 4.8 VTC engine , this is the more desireable engine, not sure what it is officially refered to.

Sweeeeeet !!!!!!!!!! where can the vehicle be seen?

@ Amit saw 2 patrols ( Ex ABU DHABI POLICE CARS) yesterday, 1999 model 2 doors carburetor engine. Sadly the interior is very bad. He asks for 28k but if you are interested you can bargain .I can provide you with the contacts.

Zeemmee, yes it should be the same TBD48DE... 4800 VTC.

Look what i just found on wikipedia...

Delivering more power and torque, the potent TB48DE 4800 Twincam 24-valve gasoline engine is also equipped with VTC and NICS to provide the Patrol with exceptional off-road performance and impressive top speed on the highway.


This engine has attracted many Arab tuners as modification like addition of turbo kits boosted the power upto or more than 1000Hp which made them use this engines to swallow challenges like SUV drag races and sand dunes climbing. There happened to be a situation where the SWB Patrol was installed with the modified TB48 engine which kicked the top speed upto 397KM/Hr. This engine has also made a history of beating high end exotic cars once after modification.

@ FSL Exactly mate 4.8 is the way to go. Specially for that reason Nissan still rolls out 4.8 swb in the Muscular beautiful old shape & it has waiting list for every order.Did you youtube "patrol vs Murceliago?" in dubai :051:.

@ Amit call these numbers, both same person, AD as seen in Gulf news, 050 628 3003, 050 628 1111 the cars are in Sharjah near to Quran round about. To start the bargain set it @ 20K , cause I felt they need 5- 10 k to be road worthy, depending on how you like your cars to look like from inside & outside.

They are painted in police brown colors, But the interior ....

OH yes The Chasis is rusty too.

OMG, i just did... it's crazy.
