Hi and Aoa,
I am Syed Meesam Ali, 29 years old civil engineer. I love deserts and sand dune bashing. Part of many clubs but never drove in a club formation. Have been off-road many times and almost always alone :) Would love to go out in a company of sweet and nice people.
I drive my beloved "FJ Cruiser 2013". Had been proud owner of LC 2003 but she's departed now.

Hi my name is Anusha, iv always loved the feeling of offroading but never had a car that could do any off roading and the ones I used didn't survive long. Iv recently bought a wrangler sahara and would love to learn to use the most of it.

As far as I remember you are going to buy another car and give your Pajero to your poor brother .... LOL

Hi Guys,

I just bought a Toyota Fortuner 4.0 V6.

I have done some off roading before on the wet muddy fields of the UK, but never in sand.

I really want to get out there.

Any tips, advice, or events I can join?

Adrian.

Hi dogsrus. The winter season is about to start so it's a great time to get out into the desert and explore. Three smart tips would be to drive with at least two other cars, preferably at least one driver having experience of the area and how to drive on the sand! Don't drive above your ability as things can go wrong fast with the 4x4 pitching and banking to extremes. And lastly, but most commonly ignored amongst beginners is your tire pressure. Deflate down to about 15 psi and as you become more experienced you may reduce further without risking the tire popping off the rim.

it's a good idea to pack a shovel and snatch strap for starters as you will get stuck! It's all part of the fun.

As you have now logged on here to Almost4x4 watch out for the next Club member drive which are posted every 3 to 4 weeks. You just missed a big one last weekend! You'll get to meet some of the guys and get a 2 hour drive to introduce yourself to the desert and the basic skills of driving on the sand! It's a lot of fun.

Good luck getting on a drive soon Adrian and I'm sure I'll see you out on the dunes over the winter.

Dave.
