Welcome Ramstest; you have the New Model X-Terra? We have a few drivers with the old model which is great in the sand, I am no expert but it looks like they have turned it into a road going SUV rather than a true offroad vehicle. Anyway, I am sure more experienced guys with Japanese model experience will advise you, I am a Jeeper through and through! Enjoy the Club, it is a great way to get into desert driving in a safe and controlled way. Good luck!

Hi,
Yes its a 2015, but they beffed up the rear suspension on this and i took the offroad version with proper tyres, think thats the only new from the previous model tbh, ( the Xterra is not really getting much greet form the reviews due to their lack of updates hehe.)

Ahh, apologies Ramstest, I have seen pictures of a new shape X-Terra but looking at the Nissan website it isn't released yet! So you have a good car to start with! Speak to guys like Rashidjass, Ginger and Offroad Ron for their advice and experience.

Hi all,
im a second timer to Dubai. Have been 4x4ing since I could see over the steering wheel. Just back in Dubai and getting setup. Just bought an xterra, getting it on Sunday. Was in Oz for last 3 years driving a Jeep JK all over the place. Decided to try out the xterra this time. Before that, Mitsubishi L200, land rovers, hilux's and MFT20 (not recommended). Looking forward to a few trips and meeting some new people with the same interests, have to kit out the xterra first though. Been stuck in sand a few times, not fun without the right gear! Hope to meet up with some of you over 2015, and happy new year to ye all.
