Drive : All Lead XI - 2021
Area : Sweihan
Lead : Myself
Organizer : Rashid
Participants: @Scorpio @giorgio @Mahmoodyasin @Nabil @orlantsev
I love you @Rashidjass . Thank you for organizing this drive
. I was super exited to participate in this event.
Convoys were split between intermediate & advance. When advance were asked who would take the first lead, I immediately raised my hand.
I got in the car, shifted to 4H, “Line up & lets go” call on the radio. Aimed for which looked like the highest dune in that area!
As soon we crested over to the other side, I faced few floating cars from the intermediate convoy.
I was trying to maneuver to stay far from the other group.
Few more dunes & I crossed over to the other area which was much cleaner with no visible tracks. Aim was to side crest as many dunes as possible within the allotted time.
Keeping in my mind the dynamic 2nd lead, stalwart floater & powerful lot of adv drivers
behind, I didn’t think much before executing certain sharp angle side crests. (point # 2 @scoprio report).
Practice makes perfect
. I have seen some marshal’s executing such side crests & I would keep following them & under their supervision I am sure to master it.
The flow was so nice that I didn’t even realized when my 25 mins were over. The feeling was like a child been given the unlimited rides Disney world ticket.
When Giorgio called on the radio that the time if over, i requested him to grant me 10 more mins please. The request was approved by him & seconded by Scorpio.
The final 10 mins I pushed as much as I could. The level of excitement was so high, that eventual 40 mins of drive felt only like 10 mins.
thanks to @scorpio @giorgio for keeping the convoy safe & your guidance during the entire drive!
Friday the 15th of oct 2021 – my first lead. The day I would remember forever.
I cant thank enough the marshal’s, Bu Salem for the guidance &
bestowing me with the kind of skills that I was able to lead the convoy with confidence!

Ok...I'm still recovering from the drive
as I was not able to finish. As everyone mentioned this is one of those drives that everyone looking forward to. This will allow me to test what I have learned so far with the Almost4x4 family. Hitting hard on the ditch is part of the game. As mentioned by @alshamsi_m it could have been much worse. Anyway the car is in the good hands @Rashidjass
and will be ready next Friday.
Congrats to the Advanced and Intermediate drivers.
Hope to participate in the next one!
Thanks @alshamsi_m for escorting me out the desert
See you guys soon!

Very unfortunate Jasper, "part of the game" as you rightly said, happy to see you on the list for this Friday´s drive.
Take care.
Take care.
