Like registering for a Drive, the hunt is also on for writing the report first... this shows the dedication and enthusiasm of our fellow almosters.
I can only say that after driving for around 3 hrs in desert on a perfectly chosen route by our marshal's, there was a feeling of self-satisfaction. The never ending hunger for the sand was a bit settled for this weekend and started to grow more for the next one.
All in all it was a nice drive, mix of everything. Being a 10+ drive, it has brought all the basics skills out of oneself, which are required to drive at this and for the upper levels. Terrain was challenging. Proper gap, right momentum and using the right cresting techniques were the main technical factors which were required and I must congratulate to all the fellow drivers that almost all of them has used these well to make this drive a success.
Only sorry feeling is for Margarita, drive shaft of her jeep lost its connection to the transfer case and it was only tranfering power to the front wheels. But appreciate her courage and skills that she managed to drive till the end point, which was not an easy thing to do. Hope your Jeep will be fixed without any big expenses and see you flying the sand soon.
Thanks to Marshals and founders for a well-organized trip.
