Hi guys

Thanks to everyone for being on time. When you know it's going to be a hot day, it's great to be heading out at 7:00 exactly!!!

KIMOz, don't beat yourself up about a popout. We have ALL had them and will have more. It is all about learning how we get them, how to avoid them, where to fix them and how to fix them.

Strawb, thanks for the great drive. Nice to be out with you all again. I just wish I could join in more often.

I was doing rescue, so had the opportunity to watch multiple cars go over the same tricky bits. Some seem to just cruise over and others seem to struggle... So I got thinking. Why.
It was not the type of car. So it must be the driver.....

From my observations, the common mistake was slightly low speed, with too much power. It makes the car wheel spin and loose complete control.
Most of the cars are very powerful and can 'blast' over. But this is fighting gravity.... The first Almost rule.

Having said all this, towards the end, I was in the convoy and watched how the 2 or 3 cars ahead of me had struggled over one bit.... I thought 'I'll show them how'
5 sec later I was bogged down in the soft, churned up sand.....needed to reverse down and try again.

Sometimes you get stuck in places that others were ok. You just need to be ready to make a safe 'plan B'

Thanks to everyone for a great trip.

Regards
Paul
