Sorry for the late report… Just back to office after a long weekend... He he..:have a nice day:
Awesome Drive...
Thanks for Almost 4x4 club for organizing the great drive… & Special Thanks to Yoghy & Strawb for selecting the route…
I felt as a really technical route (Dunes behind Al Badyarshop) & enjoyed a lot with the fellow members… As Agalon said, 50% of time we were chatting bcos of so many stoppages………
- One popout for Kimoz– fixed out in 10 min demonstrated by Strawb.
- Few stoppages .
I observed one thing different -> There is no stoppage for first 5 vehicles, last 5 were stuck many times, why it is so?
Strawb/Yoghy/ Marshals - please guide us on the above doubt…

Because the first 5 cars followed the leading cars track and maintained proper distance ..... driving in a convoy is teamwork ..... everyone needs to fulfill their share of the responsibility in order for everyone to enjoy the drive .... that includes maintaining proper distance
Cheers

As mentioned by Armin; it was not official Intermediate drive however due the considerable number of A/I drivers the Marshals were as usual very acomodating and decided to have dedicated convoy for us with Al Khatib amazing lead from Al Badayer to the Iftar bowl and back making sure that our tracks left on every nice/high dunes we found.
very nice and relaxing drive with no stuck, no pop out and just few second try.
thank you marshals and Khatib and to all my friends.
my record;

Sorry for the late report. Was tied up with domestic andofficial work. This was my 4th drive and was certainly morechallenging than the last few. Thanks Al Shamsi, Abu Jimmy and others for beingan excellent marshal, guide and trainer. Honestly I can’t thank you all enough forbeing so patient with us.
Agree with all the comments made earlier by my fellow offroadcolleagues. One additional comment is the one stated by Al Shamis. He related thedeep inverse cone of sand dune to the “ant eater” who waits for the ants tofall prey for the “ant eater”. Don’t be the “ant” and get stuck in this conicaldune. The explanation will remain with me for a long time.
I did had to self recover once and then immediately I flewover the crest. Momentum should not be very high and should not be low. Thebalance is something I am still trying to learn.
Now I am waiting in anticipation for the announcement of thenext drive.
Have a good week.

In addition to what explained by Strawb, I would like to add (as partial support of those who were in the second half of the convoy) that in some places the sand was extremely soft and, after the first cars, completely broken, so very tough for the following cars, that's why for instance, where Sridhar got stuck I asked the cars behind him to follow another track.
With more practice and experience, in the future you will be able to manage also this particular situation.
Cheers
