Dont worry RaZe with almost4x4 there is always a Next time but you just have to be active and keep your eyes on the prize (new CM trip). Mean while its will be good to go through the forum topics and gain the knowledge you need prior to the trip :)

I am out of the country on Friday which is a good thing as I don't qualify for the trip just yet. I would not have liked to be in town and miss out on another great trip with my fellow Newbies because I just fall short of the 5 drives! But a quick question. Does the CM drive count towards the 5 drives with the club or must it be 5 drives as a Newbie?

Hi Dave

If it is my drive I will definitely put you in the convoy (I already did, two drives ago in Al Baddyer ..remember) because most the times marshals don't see your number of drives only, they also see how you perform in each drive. If the marshals see that you have the right skills & attitude they push you faster.
For example , Three of the newly upgraded members did less than 5 drives with us and got upgraded right away to intermediate. We made the safety rules to make sure of the quality of the drive and the fun for the whole pace when we do the drive that is all.

To answer your question about the CM drive , YES it is counted as number ONE

Thank you Mohamed for the fast reply! I do notice the many eyes watching over us on the club drives. You don't miss a trick out there! Thank you for answering my question and also for the bump into the +5 drive when we were last in Al Baddyer.

I appreciate how the club always puts safety first and its a great idea having the many levels of experience separated into different levels of difficulty within each convoy. The more experienced drivers are kept challenged and keep their skills high and the less experienced drivers but with equal dedication and love for the desert are not pushed beyond their limits.

And along with the clubs dedication to safety those at the top always make sure everyone gets a chance to drive with the club almost every weekend. You are also dedicating your precious home and family time and doing it all for free. Amazing really. I am sorry to be away for this weekends drive but I wish everyone a great time. Have Fun!

Hi, not sure if this is the correct way or not, but I put my name on the waiting list as I will not know until weds if I would be able to attend this trip. But I hope so!
Also... Congratulations to all the newly upgraded intermediate drivers!
