Gentlemen; I am confused on selecting new tyres since 3 of my current Cooper HT got damaged and I m fed up of this brand. No doubt, these are excellent on sand and I am very comfortable in all kind of terrains but there is always some issue. On top of all , they re not available. (At least the size I m looking for 275/70R16).
After some research, I have short listed Michellin Lattitude HP and Yokohama Geolanders A/T. Need a profesional advice on selecting one of them or some others which are best on FJ. I tried Pirreli scorpion but they were not as good as cooper. Thanks for your valuable input.

I have no experience with Lattitude but, I heard many negative feedback about it..LTX used to be one of the best specially for stock cars

Geolander is one of the best off-roading tyres I used..after BFGoodrich ofc

I am on geolanders, only downside is its soft rubber. But they easily manage 2.5 ton weight of car with low pressure of 7-8 psi. Road noise is less.
No regrets so far.

hello Fida,

my patrol runs on Geolandar 275/70R16 H/T -S, as mentioned by Zeemmee, they are great tires for sand but with soft walls and easy to puncture
i damaged one in Liwa, got punctured with a wood piece and i had to repair it with an inner patch
i would definitely use the same tire for the patrol as it is light weight and great for sand

for Michellin i think Capri should advise, i remember it was mounted on the pathfinder

*Dear Fida
I used Michellin Lattitude HP one drive and threw them away , they are nice foe chiveys or trucks in the city , they have super soft side wall which make them week for offroading. But they are super quite on road.

Now Yokohama Geolanders A/T. 8 FJs fixed them at the same time the 8 removed them too

I ran the Michelin LTX and was very happy with them. Super quiet and smooth on the road giving over 100k km of use and great on the sand. As said before the side walls have little protection so I tended to avoid rocky terrain. Have not heard of the Latitude HP so unlike the LTX it doesn't have a huge reputation here which is not a good thing. Running the Cooper Discoverer AT3's now and so far I have had 6 months of happiness. Not a top end brand like the Michelin but reasonable value for money. Maybe also worth a think before you make your purchase. Don't forget to check the date stamped on the tyre when you buy. Most garages are honest and the tyre will only be 3-6 months old but there will be some out there trying to off load older stock. Best of luck with your new shoes!
