Below is a Spiny Tailed Lizard. Locally known as a Dhub. They can grow up to 65cm in length and are not normally aggressive. However if they do need to defend themselves they can swing their spiny tail and also have a nasty bite. They were a source of protein to Bedouin many years ago and it's skin was used as leather. These days they are protected from hunters as their numbers have much declined. I spotted this young Lizard in Al Qudra.

It would have to be a very big reward for me to go near those talons !! That's a very healthy and strong looking falcon!!

Herd of Arabian Oryx passing my Patrol today. Quality not great as zoom poor on my phone. Still. They passed very close for such shy wild Oryx! Beautiful.
