DAKAR

YES its that time of the year when we celebrate "GNFD" while the rest of the world glues itself to DAKAR.

Starting hard from 5th to 20thJanuary, the desert stages will make their appearance in the first few days of the rally. Starting at Lima (peru) passing through Argentina & finishing at Santiago (Chile) The riders and drivers will get straight to the heart of the matter, they will have to go the distance more than 8,000 kilometres in three countries.

This time, all the riders, drivers and crews will be able to test their mettle on the largest chains of dunes crossed on the continent (in PERU) since 2009. The Dakar has never before started in the middle of the desert in its history. More pics & info as THE Biggest Offroad Endurance Rally initiates.

Why it is still under the name of Dakar. Dakar is the city (point of destination) for the rally when it used to start from Paris through Africa. :032:

Any way, the challenge should be in the GCC one day, Empty Quarter for example!!:015:

Atacama desert in Chile recorded never rains and is the driest place on Earth. What kind of sand they have there? I think it is not included in the Rally
