:056: OMG!!! Beep Beep Beep!!!:010: What a crazy trip this was….

If im gonna write about the entire trip then it would be wayyyyyyy too long and will turn into a novel…

So this time I’ll try to make it SHORT! It was yet again a great day thanks to Almosters ….

This was the max I went so far… The highest dunes, sliding, drifting, cresting, soft sand, big bowls, tricky dunes, super-fast track, no mercy, no waiting, takeover and run for your life, 15+ cars in 1 bowl at a time, cars facing each other while driving…. was all that was happening in this trip!

There were many times during the drive that I was talking to myself and saying…WHAT ON EARTH WAS I THINKING WHEN I PUT MY NAME IN FOR THIS CHALLENGE???:035:

I must say SHAMSI was not there in the trip…… he went home to sleep after the morning NEWBIE drive and in exchange he sent his EVIL TWIN :014: who has no mercy at all!!! But at the same time he made it fun and challenging too!

YES I did get stuck, YES they had to tow me, NO they dint leave me alone there!

Naser & Silvester were great help all the time in guiding me whenever I needed it.

Bashar, Diver, Delta, Falasi, Rashid all were of great help too and not to forget the great DL for cursing me all through the drive……..

OK OK I remember I said I will make this SHORT!

Thank you once again ALMOSTERS for a great day!

A big thanks to :014:Shamsi’s EVIL TWIN, :028:The legendary Silvester and :003:Guardian Angel Naser!

See u all in sand soon….:038:

We all met at Nazwa Shops at 7 onwards. This trip was for Club members and Newbies restricted to 20 drivers. This drive had fastest response and thread was closed on the same day. I had requested Yoghy to accomodate me. he did accomodate .Thanks for that .We had a club member who was at meeting point. He was accomodated in the drive by our lion hearted Shamsi and Capri. Thanks for that too. Convoy was divided into two. One lead by lamboo , Sweeped by se7 and other convoy lead by khatib, Sweeped by Abu jimmy. I was in lamboos Convoy. We were moving swiftly and it was much of a pleasure to drive with lamboo. Reached iftar bowl had a brief halt there. Due to demand by drivers that instead of waiting we should drive.Shamsi agreed and we moved on . Now the drive was leaded by our one of dearest MARSHAL CAPRI. Exciting start and awesome drive again. Only some minor delays due to technical problems with se7 car. anyways lamboo and se7 sorted out and were back on track. We were now sweeped by alfalasi. I had an opportunity to drive behind NEHA. Trust me guys it was an good learning experience to drive as there was lot to learn from her. Reached badayer at 11.

It was an wonderful trip. Thanks Shamsi , Capri, Se7, Lamboo ,Alfalasi ,Khatib,Abu Jimmy and all Team members of almost.
YOGHY missed you and hope for speedy recovery of DODGE...

Well, for sure an amazing night....from every point of view!
The driving was interesting and challenging, my second night driving ever, really something special what do you feel...
Some problems for some car, and at the and a big problem to my car :035:......coming down from a dune, easely and slowly, the engine suddenly has switched off and there was no way to restart.
All the team did an amazing job, someone from a mechanical point of view, someone else tried to raise my spirits.....thanks to all, all of you are amazing people :027:
At the end it was decided to tow out Tornado....not an easy job, very heavy car, in the middle of nowhere, at night...we had all the ingredients for a perfect nightmare.
But we are Almoster, and we did a fantastic job, special thanks to Alosh and his Jeep, but thanks to all of you. Another trip to put in the book of special memories, I will never forget driving a few meters behind Alosh without engine = no power steering and no breakes :013: ....and not in a flat area......
I was feeling sad all the night, but a good chit chat with Abu Jimmy all over the night helped me a lot, thanks bro!
Lesson learned: never do a night trip if the following morning there is a trip organized by yourself.
Any way, proud to be an Almoster

I am planning on an update to my 2009 Xterra Off-Road suspension. Stock is much to soft, especially the rear. Does anyone have experience/feedback on Ironmans complete 2" liftkit ?
I had Fox shocks on my JK and would love to get the same for the Xterra, or alternatively Bilstein 5100's, but haven't found anyplace to buy either yet. Advise please.

Kind regards

Dear all,

This is gonna be my first Trip Report and its high time that I do one. So, here it goes this way:

The trip started with Greetings...

Dear all,

This is gonna be my first Trip Report and its high time that I do one. So, here it goes this way:

The trip started with Greetings :047: to/from the members who were present at the meeting point while I reached at 3:20pm. The whole fun went upto 8:30pm in the evening, was still not enough and didn’t want to leave the sweet people out there.

Firstly, at the meeting point, members were split into 3 convoys as Club members, Newbies and Intermediates respectively. We newbies being 7 cars + 2 marshals proceeded towards the deflation point. At the deflation point we were delayed by 15 mins as the Marshals had to rescue a Non-Club member who was kinda stuck and had to deflate the tires. This was really kind of our Marshals, after which, we straight away took off our toys into the desert, swinging away the dunes off like no one could stop us…for about an hour. Then we stop at Pink Rock for a smoke break, where the Intermediate driver cum Crew-Geni comes up to us to share Pizzas and garlic breads. It was really nice of her..Thanks Geni…from there on, we again start driving-away the dunes in opposite direction heading towards the starting point. The whole experience was far-fetched. Once we reached the starting point, we turned back and entered the desert for second round of drive.

The second round started off happily but after a kilometer or so…Two of our members cars were kinda stuck…but not really..however, had to pull it off to continue further. So, Shamsi comes to rescue a member and was successful after a lil hick ups out there…mean while, from no where, a non-club member shows up with his Prado and he gets stuck too in the bowl.. by claiming he wanted to help our 2nd member who was stuck. Now, since he was claiming this way and was with his family.. the Big hearted and sweet Father Mr. Shamsi proceeds to rescue them first, but happened to park it in 30 degree angle :011:where the front part of the Prado was at the edge of dune facing upward direction peeping at the desert:038:. Then, Abu Jimmy joins with his Goldy to pull the prado off but somehow was not happening. Then, tried out with Armin’s Silverado and were still unsuccessful. So, leaving the prado there for a while Shamsi proceeds to rescue our 2nd member and now, guess what,,,,,,he happened to park this car in 45degree angle:011: where, just the nose of the car is at the edge of dune facing upward direction looking at the blue sky and counting stars:054:.

Further, Shamsi goes back to rescue prado which took some time to sort it. However, this was one of knowledgable experience to all of us as Newbies. Anyways, meanwhile our dude Arminjune proceeds to pull our 2nd member’s car and stop that car from counting stars. He was successful in doing it and did an amazing job out there with his powerhorse. It was worth-a-watch scene..... now coming back to Mr. Shamsi, he thought it might take some more time in rescuing the prado and realizing the fact that we have no enough time to proceed further with the drive, he tells Abu Jimmy to take us to the dropoff zone/starting point and all of a sudden tells me “BOB..YOU WILL SWEEP”…. For a moment, I was all boggled and thought may be he said it by mistake but he actually meant it. This opportunity was for quite a small distance only, however, realizing the fact that this is just my 4th drive and being given a oppurtunity is a good sign:045:. So, I walk up to my Jeep with happiness and confidence but still w/o believing the instance completely,,,while..Abu Jimmy walks up to me and says, Bob- we have 7 cars in the convoy..so.take care and then I was like…..WOW…adding a feather to my cap I walked up to my car and all pepped up to do the given job.. but my unfortunate was that, Shamsi just amazingly rescued the prado which supposedly he guessed it would take more time. Then, he says on radio that, all of us are good to go now…lets move. So, I missed my given oppurtunity:012:.

Finally, we head to the drop off zone. Upon reaching this spot, Shamsi invites us to the Chit chat campaign:031:…which was supposedly the BBQ place as decided before.. So, we all proceed to meet our older drivers at the chit chat zone which was just opposite the Big Red dune.

Everyone is chatting and some of them sharing few experiences and some of them selling Tire Valve stems in the desert:011:…went uptill 8:30, after which, some of us left and some of them were still there talking. On the whole, this was a great experience and looking forward for much more.

Thank you all the Marshals, Organizers and founders. Truly Happy to be with the club and all of you.

Finally, would like to share a few words to the person who is always kind and calm, treats every almoster with soo much of respect and making us all understand / realize that…..first as an Human Being and then as an Offroader-by teaching effective offroading skills.….Its none other than Mr. Shamsi…not the chinese one..please stay away…lolz:027:.

Mr. Shamsi….you are one of a kind person that I have met and you are a truly respectable Individual. Your Down-to-earth quality, respect towards the Human Nature, Level of Patience is just tooo goood…You are a good Human being and God bless you.

Last but not Least, yes, I shouldn’t forget to thank Miss D for making me join such a wonderful club where words are just not enough to talk about and this is after all just in 4 drives of mine with almost4x4.
Thank you D.

p.s. - Also, heard about the mtalel’s Incident. We felt really sorry for you but were very Happy that you are safe. Take care & Drive safe dude.

Note: the words above might not say it all. And so, no disrespect towards any Individual. Please notify me, if my heart has spilt out any words or sentence in a wrong way ;)

It is hard to decide to get a second wife, but finally manage to get one. Now planning to have a permit to go for a honeymoon under the moon in the desert with ALMOSTers. Before that I really need a big help from you, ALMOSTers. Thanks in advance for that.

First of I would like to introduce her. She is from US, she is hot and temper. I do not how to control her temper. Easy to get angry, once she was angry and she fought me in the middle of the road in Abu Dhabi. Everyone was looking at us when I was fighting against her and it caused a little bit traffic jam. Some people even honked at us. It was a nightmare, well actually afternoonmare? Still, I love her actually I have to love her, I married her remember?

Her name is Cherokee, some people called her Jeeb (with b not p) Chorki or Jeeb Cherki, you can find it in dubizzle. Whatever they call, yes it is her only. My second wife.

I searched for threads in ALMOST4x4 forum archive that related to her and I found thread trail started by Speed last year I guess. It is very helpful. Thanks to Speed and ALMOSTers who shared their information related to her.

Yesterday I called Speed to get some more information about her. I decided to go to Sharjah as suggested by Speed, but here is the problem:

No contact of any Garage or Part Shop for her in Sharjah

No one help me to check her prior to go to garage

Basically I do not know what to do/check with her

But I have a clear purpose:

Wanted to cure her temper (over heating), maybe reducing her blood pressure or something.

Wanted her okay/healthy (a major service?)

Could you please help me ALMOSTers.

Thanks a lot,
walihali

Her Additional info:

US Spec, 2001, sport.
